So, we ignore what Jesus spoke most of, loving others, because we like rebuking others more?

    Calvinism

Be careful going into the realm of "commands"...I think "loving others" trumps most of them.

THAT question just might be the lesson....

Whatever you need to seek out and go after. I just don't feel I am supposed to.

I think Jesus spoke of Heaven something like six times as much as He mentioned Hell. I conclude there just might be a lesson in there for us.

You're right, attacking others probably is not too pleasing to God. I think He said: "This (whatever He mentioned at the time) is what you simply need to stay away from."

No..... it's more that I don't see Christ asking us to attack others who worship God differently than we do. I think most of the time He was reminding us that it is ourselves we are to be concerned with when it comes to how we approach Him.

If you need a label, I guess that will do as well as most others. char·is·mat·ic /ˌkerəzˈmadik/ adjective adjective: charismatic 1. exercising a compelling charm which inspires devotion in others.

I haven't read much by JM, but just the rant he went on about "Strange Fire" was enough to assure me I didn't want to read much more.

Wait a minute. Isn't an unbeliever's "punishment" supposed to be Eternity in never-ending fire? Now, how long did Jesus spend in that tomb? Do we have any record of Him being tormented in Hell? (I think that can be derived from "context".) Let's not add things to Scripture that aren't...

I think a lot of this speculation comes from a need we keep trying to satisfy to be able to (by our own limited logic) quantify and qualify things... including the very power that created us. We think we HAVE to put things into the neat little boxes we have fashioned.

It has been a strangely prevalent occurrence that I have come to notice on just about all "religious" forums...…. that most people seem to feel they might be failing as "Christians" if they cannot state a definite stance in an unrelentingly positive manner to any and all questions ever posed.

Actually, Biblically, we don't truly know the answers to any of those questions.

    Urgent warning about Donald Trump

So..... as you just said — and, frankly, history proves — both Republicans and Democrats elect the same kinds of Presidents.

Surviving Roman Catholic Heresies in Protestantism

Boy, you ARE hooked-up on slang meanings. "Inappropriate" is not a dirty inference. It means "something that doesn't fit the present situation or context."

Why is the "Imputed righteousness" scheme so seductive?

Never read the parable of the hourly vineyard workers, huh? Matthew 20:1-16

    Calvinism

Yes, I have read about the 58 people killed and the 76 who were banished during Calvin's five-year "rule." But I detest some of the conspiracies Soverign Grace peddles here, so I will not go down that road.

Several pages back, I mentioned that John Calvin seems to have had an affinity for using the word, "Absurd" (or some variation thereof), when talking about others and their ideas (He usually referred to them as enemies or opponents). Well, I got to thinking that I may have been a little hard on...
