    mormons exposed.

Not so much.…. the practices and beliefs I have problems with are still very much a part of ongoing patterns. But, the specifics aren't important, since I am not a member of that church.

    mormons exposed.

In researching the group, decades ago, I discovered a few practices that do seriously bother me, but so far, it seems that no one here is aware of them..... so I won't go into it here.

Some parts of their church never practiced it at all... and a few strains of it still cling to it. But, as an organization, "No" The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints does not profess it. They, like just about every other church, have changed a lot over the years.

Uh, there really is no "Mormon Faith" that is just a derogatory way we "Christians" refer to the Church of Latter Day Saints.

In serious truth, we need to be careful with relying too much on "One Verse Christianity". Just about anything we choose to declare, and almost any religious doctrine one chooses to either embrace or dissuade can be "proven" by using "selected" Scriptures from the Bible.

    mormons exposed.

I spent about 8 years occasionally sharing a motel room with a JW in the course of our out-of-town work with the Power Company. I went to several of their Kingdom Hall Tuesday night classes with him in various towns. For a fact, they are a difficult bunch to reason with.

My wife was raised from birth in the CoC, and I spent 12 years in that organization. You might be interested to know that they do not teach that. It is simply tradition that they do not use instruments because they find no mention of instruments being used in worship in the NT.

DOES YOUR CHURCH WANT THE PRESENCE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT?

Sadly, I lost 12 years of my life to attending the CoC. They honestly do believe the ONLY leading we can possibly have of the Holy Spirit is the black and white words written on the pages of a Bible.

How do you address opposing Scripture verses?

And you are typing on a phone!?!?!? Put that phone down.

How do you address opposing Scripture verses?

Are you real sure that is how it is worded? The addition of the verse/s you are referring to would be helpful.

A Mississippi wedding venue rejected an interracial couple, citing ‘Christian belief.’

Most people have heard RACIST! screamed so loudly for so long, that not only do they not have any idea what the word means, they have come to accept that it must mean anything they don't like.

No Heaven if you don't mortify the deeds of the flesh

    That would about cover it.

No Heaven if you don't mortify the deeds of the flesh

Are you saying you can attain the perfection of God? We "strive" for it by neglecting nothing that we have available to us... by being "complete" in our efforts.

And why on Earth would anyone want to get married where they don't want to marry you? It's prejudice, sure, but so are all sorts of things both Blacks and Whites do everyday. I think this couple just wants attention. I am sure there are Black churches and businesses that would not marry them...

No Heaven if you don't mortify the deeds of the flesh

One thing many people miss is that the word, translated "perfect" in the old English, did not mean what we take it to mean today. It meant to be "complete" in our efforts, not neglecting any of the things we should apply in our lives.

"Yes" Bethel is strange to me, too. But, we are treading on very thin ice when we start making hateful declarations that things others do are not even in the Bible. (Especially when we are espousing the hyped-up promo videos of a man who is only trying to sell his books.)

No Heaven if you don't mortify the deeds of the flesh

That is pure frightened ignorance! You can't even distinguish one from the other. It is obvious that if someone doesn't do what you approve of, then you have to denigrate them. You're just a modern day Pharisee. And I pray to God I NEVER follow the spirit that leads you.

No Heaven if you don't mortify the deeds of the flesh

Sorry, but not feeling much love for a stiff-necked turkey who mocked and called a group of people I love, a cult... and threw in a couple of other slurs too.

Stan, I can't even begin to rationalize the slobbering of ignorance you are dripping upon your keyboard. When the leader of the Vineyard realized Toronto had gone off the tracks, he openly and loudly denounced them and disavowed any further association.
