I'm pretty sure Jesus primarily said He came to seek and save the lost. Why do we suppose Jews, whose whole existence centered around worship, would be considered "lost?" Might it be that they had been misled by their religious leaders to believe that "worship" was to follow a bunch of rules...

Perhaps the Bible might truly be read more accurately without many things we have added to it..... Such as preconceived headings and sub-headings, and, of course, Chapters and verses. There are many places those particular "selected divisions" of the flow of speech tend to distort the intent.

Yet, by your own admission, you state you look at others to see if they bear all that fruit. No way to get around the hypocrisy of that. It is nothing BUT searching for faults in others. Better to do as Jesus said, and just worry about ourselves. As I said earlier, we are NOT The Holy Spirit, Jr.

You do realize, don't you, that you just said that if someone else shows fruit that is not evident in your life, your own judgement just determined that you must not be saved.... since you did not show the same fruit they did.

And, therein lies the rub! Truly, it is a solid fact that not a single one of us can say we fully understand the relationship involved in the mystery of the Trinity. Yet, we want so desperately to declare to others that THEY have to be wrong about how they understand it.

Just as you started to say in the post quoted above, it is plain to see here: indignance, pride, offense, defensiveness, a heavy leaning toward prevarication, aggressive retaliation, and in some cases, almost gloating... from all of us. I strongly suspect that none of these propensities is...
