What part of the Bible are you studying?

    Ephesians 10?

    Moderators

I do wish they'd be a bit more active, but then again I have been a mod on a non religious board before. It can be quite a job keeping averything in check. Everything they do will make someone unhappy and potentially everyone unhappy. The last big thing the mods did was demand members state...

What is the best phone bible app

I use tecatabible. It can be used offline, powerful search engine, easy to navigate, you can easily cut and paste. And there are plenty of add-ons available. Some will cost between a cut to 10 dollars but it could be worth it if you really want them. Even so, the free service is still great...

    Baptism

Yea, I saw that onomatopoea in the Batman series. Adam West punched the Joker in the face and he fell into a swimmiing pool. Then, of course, they put the action dialogue bubble on the screen and is said "baptismo"! Sorry, Wormwood. I vowed not to be a smart-alec... But its still in me and I...

    Catholics

Well Kelpha.... What did you just do? You stated that my judgment against the Pope was rediculous, you stated that only stupid people believe pray to statues, the you said , " now we are getting somewhere" when I said it wasn't my thinking... Yet... I have been saying it for at least a month...

    Catholics

Well if its for a photo op its in vain. Mat 6 clearly says prayer should be private... Not to be seen of men. That doesn't make it evil, just in vain. So when we see the Pope in prayer in a photo, God wasn't listening. Then again, the poor guy probably doesn't have many opportunities to be...

    Baptism

I appreciate your sesponse Wormwood. One of the Strong's definition for "baptize" is to immerse. You can of course, be immersed in water. You can also be immersed in thoughts, study, a project or a particular lifestyle or idealogy. You and I are immersed in this conversation. I am not...

    What if you are wrong?

Sigh... The Bible is a big book. Its easy to find a single verse to support your stance. But you got to take in everything it says. I say that because it isn't easy. So someone can come up with a doctrine based on one verse that when further explored isn't accurate. It happened with me very...

    What if you are wrong?

No. Staying with the error is. I blame no one for fighting for rheir point as we shoyld not be reeds shaking in the wind. But when you are proven wrong... Fess up. I rejoice with them that learn from their error. And I will deapise and rebuke harshly those that revel in someone's error...

    What if you are wrong?

Aspen, Have not you and I banged heads hard before? Yet I was happy to see you back. Time heals. I don't know what happened with you and BoL. I put BoL on my ignore list. Not because of doctrinal differences but because I will not stand for personal attacks. I am done with all that...

    Baptism

Wormwood, I am going to skip responding to much of your post in the sense of a point-by-point nature. It'd be too long. I see one general difference in our POV. Anytime you see the word baptism, you immediately assume water is involved. Thus, I figure you are thinking in that mode. My...

    Jesus Christ: Superstar

Anyone remember this rock opera? Chances are some may have seen a reproduction of it... Maybe by your Church. Ian Gilliam of Deep Purple fame sang Jesus' part on the album. He of course hit his high notes while praying in the Garden as well as beating out the money changers in the temple...

    What if you are wrong?

I stick to my guns as long as I can, but when I am wrong I admit it.... Happened recently as a matter of fact.

    Baptism

Either I have to change my wroting style or you should read more catefully. I didn't say they received the HG by laying on hands in Acts 2. I said that happened in chapter 19. I quoted chapter 19, then commented on it. Then I moved on to discuss chapter 2. I can see the confusion but I was...

    Baptism

Fine. But when I read his post (the one you quoted) he didn't mention the 3000 and he didnt quote a post that did. It is an assumption that he did. It might be a correct assumption. But I try to assume as little as possible on this board. I'd rather have comfirmation. In any sense, I feel...

    Do you still sin?

Doubt it. They didn't see it the first time I posted it.

    Do you still sin?

The book of Romans is a great reference for this topic; specifically chapters 4 - 8. In ch 4:7-8 Paul quotes a Psalm by saying are inquities a forgiven, sins are covered and God will not impute sin. The latter point notes a future tense: God will not impute sin. It won't be accounted to us...

    Baptism

I on the otherhand don't understand your confusion, Wormwood. Sword's statement was technically open ended. He wasn't replying to a quote directly. In proper context, he must have had something on his mind. Let's look at the quote: He said "they" but didn't specify. So yes he had a...

    Do you still sin?

I absolutely agree with that notion. But I add that it only applies when you look at the flesh. God doesn't look at the flesh of a Christian. Neither should we as it pertains to salvation.
