    Tradition Versus Scripture

Complete lie. DO you not know your own Christian history? Or does your history start at the Reformation? YOUR MEN HAVE LIED TO YOU or you don't know your own Christian history. Irenaeus “He [Jesus] came to save all through himself; all, I say, who through him are reborn in God: infants, and...

    Tradition Versus Scripture

You crack me up aunty jane. What your men have taught you such nonsense! Or are you self taught?? None the less.....What denomination do you belong to? That would help me better understand where you are coming from. Sooooo "the "scriptural acrobatics" employed by YOU are amazing. You deviate...

    Tradition Versus Scripture

Yup, show me what stands written from Scripture that the Protestant reformers can use to support their biblical opinions and I will join them. After all, we KNOW that the Church Fathers (some of whom were taught by the Apostles) are wrong and the men of the 16th century (1,600 years later) are...

Was Jesus Heretical? - Why did they crucify Him?

Thanks, Behold! I will tackle the easiest one (#2) first. Your men have taught you that baptism doesn't save you. But Scripture says opposite of that: 1 Peter 3:21 And then #4: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness...

We are judged by works, not by faith

False prophets are known by their fruits (Matthew 7).....NOT each individual believer in Christ. And those false prophets are judged by their fruits: Every tree (false prophet) that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

We are judged by works, not by faith

You stated that "atheist cannot produce works". And you have said that "People can do good things...". Which is it? I think there is some nuance to your beliefs.... Mary

    Tradition Versus Scripture

Yes, the Pope(s) during that time did "did lead the church into a political union". Does that change the doctrines/dogma of The Church?

    Tradition Versus Scripture

Here is my question to you: Where does Scripture say that infants are not to be baptized? After all, you Protestants say that everything that we Christians do must be affirmed by Scripture. So give your Scriptural evidence that infants are NOT to be baptized!!! Curious Mary

We are judged by works, not by faith

thank you.... I don't see ANYWHERE in there that atheist cannot produce works (help the homeless, feed the hungry etc) but if you see it then so be it....Thank you for your opinion.....Mary

Was Jesus Heretical? - Why did they crucify Him?

Hey Steven, Instead of asking me if anything was lost in 1,700 years how about if you give me evidence that The Church has lost something in 1,700 years? After all, Jesus said that the gates of hell will not prevail against The Church. It seems you are suggesting that the gates of hell HAVE...

Was Jesus Heretical? - Why did they crucify Him?

Wow...u must be rich if you can afford a car less than 1,700 years old :p One important relationship with God is that we adhere to all of Scripture. We Catholics adhere to all of Scripture: 2 Thessalonians 2:15, 1 Timothy 6:3-5 You choose to hold fast to the 500-year-old (or less) teachings of...

How do you define legalism in Christianity? Curious Mary

Was Jesus Heretical? - Why did they crucify Him?

We have a 1,700-year-old "confession of faith". Correction: Catholicism came first therefor Protestants do things different than the long-held practices of the Catholic Church and all protestants do things different than other Protestants. Respectfully, Mary @Earburner

Was Jesus Heretical? - Why did they crucify Him?

Hey earburner, No visible Church is required?????????? What invisible church enforces Matthew 18:17?

Was Jesus Heretical? - Why did they crucify Him?

Hey E, I get it. You and your ilk want to turn what the Pope Leo wrote into an infallible teaching. Only you and your ilk believe it is.....The Church doesn't and has made it very clear it is not.

We are judged by works, not by faith

Help me out here Ronald. What passages of Romans and Isaiah "prove that absolutely".

Was Jesus Heretical? - Why did they crucify Him?

Your opinion is different than what Scripture says. When one accepts that Jesus is the Saviour sent by God and then is water baptized their sins are washed away AND they receive the gift of the Holy Spirit AND they are saved. It is in those moments that they "invite the Spirit of Christ into...

Was Jesus Heretical? - Why did they crucify Him?

For a person who is raised Catholic from birth first comes baptism by water and the Spirit preferably within a couple weeks of birth. Chrismation (aka confirmation) is done later in life (usually around the age of 7-8). Hope that helps....Mary
