There is only one true church

A catholic church would be a church that has voluntarily submitted to papal authority yes? You would be hard pressed to prove that the Celtic church, even beyond the time Augustine visited Britain, was at any time submitted to papal authority. That came later. Much later. And it wasn't...

Where does the Pope get his authority?

I agree, but would like to add a caveat. The RCC no longer seeks to assert authority over non Catholics, for the time being. Their present reluctance doesn't negate her ambitions to do so when the time is more auspicious and with less harm to her overall standing.

Keeping the Sabbath tells people Who you Worship

I believe you are a serious Christian. A Christian zealous for truth, and zealous in defending it, and ambitious to denounce error and expose error wherever it threatens the faith. I admire that. Seventh Day Adventists are Protestants. Perhaps the only true Protestants left as a...

Keeping the Sabbath tells people Who you Worship

Indeed they would, and I'd join them, if it were true. You quoted... I agree with the above. Do you know why we believe the 10 commandments are closely linked to the plan of salvation or the gospel? Because without the Cross of Christ and the power of His resurrection, it would be...

Keeping the Sabbath tells people Who you Worship

Why would any of the apostles disagree with Seventh Day Adventists that it is a good thing to obey the Ten Commandments? As far as a national Sunday law being impossible, I would ask, have you read the news lately?

There is only one true church

Oh please. There were Christian churches throughout Asia before they were even called Christian, let alone Catholic. Not to mention all the churches that the Roman church warred against over the ensuing centuries, including even the Gothic nation which was definitely Christian, but "Arian"...

There is only one true church

I wouldn't call the written law on tables of stone a mere symbol of God's Law and power. I would suggest strongly it is a written definition of it. A transcript even of God's character. Making it merely a symbol however helps to explain the ease with which your church changed it, and boasts of...

There is only one true church

Indeed, Christ established His church. For a while it was going well. Trusting in the power of the Holy Spirit, the church grew exponentially throughout the known world, preached the gospel of salvation which presented the blood of the Lamb as the only atoning medium for sin. However. One...

    Rethinking God

Those that "rethought" God, are those that created a place for their man made paradigm of natural immortality for man. Man cannot live for ever and ever in an eternally burning hell. For 2 reasons. First. Only God is immortal. Only the righteous receive immortality as a gift. Sinners die...

    Daniel Chapter 2

It is true that the iron kingdom, equivalent to the 4th beast of Daniel 7, continues all the way from the time of its beginning after Greece, to the second coming. However, as we have noted, the latter part of its existence incorporated a component of clay. In its beginning, Rome was...

    Daniel Chapter 2

I am not convinced the ten toes are the same as the ten horns. The ten toes are destroyed at the second coming in Daniel 2. Yet we know that 3 of the ten horns were destroyed by the little horn prior to the 6th century. In Revelation we see another ten horns, which I think are the same as the...

    Daniel Chapter 2

Indeed they do, and offer further information regarding details. But the main actors remain the same, and the chronology remains the same.

    Daniel Chapter 2

The only logical and historical interpretation. It really is unchallenged by any competent Bible student. Even the anti-nicene fathers taught the same thing. And the ten horns of the 4th beast represent the 10 major kingdoms that took over the territory vacated by Rome in the western...

Who, or what, is the dreaded bogey man of prophecy?

True. Although He does everything He can inside the boundaries of self imposed limits to lead us to right choices. What human argument? I agree with you. But the soul isn't a distinct conscious entity without a body through which it expresses itself in thought and word and deed. Do you...

    Daniel Chapter 2

The image of Daniel 2 sets the foundation for every subsequent vision and prophecy from Daniel to Revelation. What God has set down as His word in Daniel 2 cannot be altered to suit one's false theories when it comes to studying Revelation. All subsequent prophecies are to be studied on the...

What does Religious Liberty mean to you?

The state has no right nor inspired holy Spirit led mandate to interpret doctrine, define truth, or enforce it. In the dark ages, one single global institution, the papacy, asserted its presumptuous authority to define what is truth. The kings and queens of the world accepted the spiritual...

Catholic tradition, not the Bible, teaches a change to Sundaykeeping.

I've often wondered why anyone with any intellectual understanding or biblical nous could embrace the carnal reasoning and human devising of an 8th day. It's desperate. And biblically unfounded. Philosophical mumbo-jumbo. Satanic in origin and a blatant attempt to justify disobedience. Yes...

Poll: Do we worship the God of the old covenant?

There is the perception in Christianity today that the God of the OT is a God of law, and of judgement, and that the means to salvation for the Jews was obedience, in contrast to the NT where God is a God of love and mercy, and salvation is by grace and not law. But the most beautiful name...
