    Failed Prophecies

$35,000 just doesn't go as far as it used to....
  2. Willie T

    Failed Prophecies

Bingo! You got it! John was writing to his contemporaries about horrors they were experiencing and hearing about that had never happened to them before, and — frankly — has not happened on such a worldwide scale since those days. The intent of his letter — that he requested be read over and...

    Failed Prophecies

Oh, that's good to hear. I was 'fraid there was going to be, all of a sudden, a special period of 7 years of something called "THE Great Tribulation", the way so many people talk. But, search as I may, I can't find a period of time with that designation anywhere in the Bible. Glad to know it...

    Failed Prophecies

I wonder why John told the people in the congregations of those 7 churches in ancient Asia (today's Turkey) that he was, at the time of him writing Revelation to them, "a brother with them in that tribulation?"

    Failed Prophecies

Actually, I do. I convert almost all of my downloaded books to MS Word (that's how so many people here have received 'zipped' copies of many books from me) and I read them throughout my day at the computer. I happen to have two up at the moment, one by John Rushdoony, and one by Joanna L...

    Failed Prophecies

Presuppositional Apologetics sure defines a lot of thinking on here. (Here is what the verse we are going to read means.) [The Bible as "I" read it.]
  7. Willie T

    Failed Prophecies

Very feeble... both of you. Men are setting themselves up as prophets and people who believe in what they are selling are shelling out their $ to clamor after the words they write. If "Christians" really believed the words of the Bible, there would be almost none of those "Rapture" books sold...

    Failed Prophecies

(See the post just above this one of yours.)

    Failed Prophecies

There haven't been people predicting Jesus' return (in a rapture) "this year", ever since Calvary?
  10. Willie T

    Failed Prophecies

I think 2,000 years of endless failed prophecies is a bit much. LOL
  11. Willie T

    Failed Prophecies

I do too. But don't say that out loud... he thinks we are sad to like to do that.
  12. Willie T

    Failed Prophecies

Actually, the author never does disparage "The Rapture" in that excerpt I posted. He derides people 'setting dates' in order to sell books.
  13. Willie T

    Failed Prophecies

Are you now going to buy it?
  14. Willie T

    Failed Prophecies

You are more gullible than I thought if you think page 189 says one single thing about Gary hating Dispensationalists. As he did in the whole book, he there mocked the prognosticators using people's beliefs to line their pockets.
  15. Willie T

    Failed Prophecies

Now you have really messed up his value system. He won't pay the $65 the book costs, and you have just relegated him to stooping to reading the dreaded "downloads", like I do.
  16. Willie T

    Failed Prophecies

And you read it correctly. Countless times the author has stated his views and been met with indignant opposition by dispensationalists he has repeatedly asked to debate the subject with him.... only to have them refuse. That little excerpt was taken from a very interesting book he wrote.

    Failed Prophecies

It's not anything you would like.

    Failed Prophecies

Shower time for me...…. Nite, All.

    Failed Prophecies

It's mostly university connections. LOL (My wife is a reading specialist with a Master's.)

    Failed Prophecies

I have some avenues of access to download books that would otherwise have pushed my library into the thousands of dollars. (I think it was *Stranger* who just made fun of me for that a little earlier in this thread.)
