Why Do We Shoot Our Wounded?

I just sent several of you the article. But, I am still messed-up on Post Operative drugs.... so, if you didn't get it, please directly PM me with a working email address.

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

You are a wise man to know that we are walking awfully close to danger when we try to read words into the Bible that were never written there.

    The cycle of abuse

Actually, I think I DO know what you mean when you say you gave yourself "religiously" to various teachings.

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

BTW, please FULLY quote what I wrote.... not just a part of my reply to try and make it appear I said a different thing.

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

Where was David mentioned in that parable?

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

I must have missed the part of that parable where it addressed one or the other of those men on that concern.

Why Do We Shoot Our Wounded?

PM me some sort of email to send it to.

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

So, this is based upon an assumption that "they each must have done [believed] something a particular way?" Nothing to do with either of them keeping, or not keeping, Jewish Law? I mean, that was all that either of them had to follow at that time, right?

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

What did the "Rich Man" do that he deserved "Hell?" And what did "Lazarus" do that earned him "Heaven?"

    Open your eyes

That's the most intelligent thing you have said here. You may be beginning to realize you cannot blame others for the things you have chosen to believe.
  11. Willie T

    Open your eyes

Yeah, surviving. Thanks for asking. LOL

    Open your eyes

I also see sad delusion in JJ. It sells songs, but it doesn't work in life.
  13. Willie T

    In & out

No, actually, my beliefs cannot effect you anymore than your beliefs can affect me.
  14. Willie T

    In & out

I doubt he will be ready to hear from anyone until he comes to understand no one else hurts any of us (short of a physical assault), BUT, RATHER, IT IS WE, OURSELVES, WHO DO THE DAMAGE TO OURSELVES.

    In & out

It was the sixth operation on my knees.... and there is at least one more to go, maybe, two. But, on a brighter note, they tell me I may still have three or four more years to go before I am legally blind.
  16. Willie T

    In & out

It's still about three times worse than the last similar operation. I can manage only about 15 minutes at the computer, then I have to call it quits.

    In & out

Seems like a lot of your comments, JJ, are about what the God you wanted to believe in has (not) done for you, rather than what you have done for God. Are you a bit disappointed at Him not being your personal "Aladdin's Lamp" to the extent you expected?
  18. Willie T

    In & out

Sounds like you need to keep on looking till you find something that will work, JJ.

We really CAN'T answer some of these

But, if for instance, God planned the crucifixion, then weren't the whole cast of the people that carried it out, predestined to do what they did.... and were they not, therefore, damned before they did a thing? Even damned and condemned before they were born because of the part they were...

    Has anyone changed their mind...?

I not only talk to myself, but I answer myself. Further, I argue with what I said to myself... and sometimes I lose the argument.
