    The One Baptism

Hi Nancy, The BOOKS of John should be taken into CONTEXT: John 1:33 Jesus was baptized in water and the Holy Spirit came down upon him. John 2:1-11: In his first miracle Jesus used water from “six stone jars … for the Jewish rites of purification.” These purification waters were called...

Lol....Yup, clearly I am a pagan since I stated the fact that Jews wrote the OT. To be honest with you, that is the first question I ask people to determine if they are pagan OR not: Do you think Jews wrote the OT? If they answer NO...then they are clearly pagan. :Laughingoutloud: Well, sounds...

In regard to what Jesus said to Peter, it appears that the Apostle John's presumption is in error.

I think they believed they were being guided by the Spirit. Back to my origingal question: Do you believe Joseph Smith, Martin Luther, Zwingili and John Calvin 'asked'? Or to put it another way: Do YOU believe they were guided by the Spirit into Truth?

Thank you. I should be more grounded, measured, thoughtful and inviting in my posts. When I use the word kiddo it should not be taken condescendingly. I see that some take it that way. I should refrain from using it. Respectfully, Mary

Hmmmm......comparing a larger-than-life memorial to Protestant men (all who disagreed with each other about the Truth of Scripture) to a small statue of the Mother of God IS a bit of a stretch.....:goodj:

    The One Baptism

Hey Marks, We are to obey Christ. Correct? What did Christ tell us to do? Baptize all. How do Christians baptize? With water. If you don't obey Christ OR the Apostles, then you won't baptize or be baptized. What does Baptism do: 1 Peter 3:21, Acts 22:16 Your choice. Do what He tells you to do...

Yup, he used the word born in John 3:5. How are you born AGAIN? Scripture makes it clear that it is thru water baptism. For 2,000 years us christians have been preaching/teaching that. You should join us.

Your theory is that the Jews didn't write the Scriptures. Just to be clear the OT is Scripture. The OT are Jewish laws (for a lack of better words). Jewish people put pen to paper and wrote the OT. I noticed your little caveat there that "there was only one real author." You are right. God is...

Except all the passages that talk about water baptism AND Jesus was baptized in water and the Apostles baptized in water and historical christian writings attest to baptism in water. Other than that....nope, no water.

I know that already. You want to read the bible on your own, come up with your own truth and then try to convince everyone you were led by the Holy Spirit into that truth and if anyone disagrees with you tell them they are wrong. You don't are dismissive and do not want to submit yourself to...

Huh? An OPINION of the Jews? You mean the same Jews who wrote Psalms? I guess I should accept YOUR opinion on a Jewish book from the OT and NOT accept the opinion of the Jews!! lol....
