Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Branches that don't abide and bear fruit are thrown in the fire. Fruit bearing is a matter that concerns eternal life. Dovetailing with 1 Jn 3:23,24 teaching those who abide are supplied with the Spirit that is only in Christ (1 Jn 5:11).

Oops! He speaks of a way, as well, not just a gate.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

They allege another passage says "whoever comes to Me I will never cast out", but it says "whoever is coming to Me", another "abiding" verse.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

I'd say half of the 50 pages was just poop-flinging, so if you skip over that it should be an quick read.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Jesus's Name is "God Is Our Righteousness" (Jer 23:6). When we abide in Him, "God Is Our Righteousness". The righteousness of faith is defined as "being forgiven" (Ro 4:6-8). So, people say "That's a negative righteousness, like saying our bank account is at zero, but we need a positive...

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Yeah, "clothed in White"--"God Is Our Righteousness" (Jer 23:6). "God's righteousness is revealed from faith to faith" (Ro 1:5,16,17, 14:5,23).

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Idk what you mean. I'm saying JESUS says "they are worthy"--know even if that's because they're obeyed the command to believe His love is given to them freely, and they're not deserving of it, then that is the basis, and they fulfilled it.

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Well, I'm not 100% sure about that, since, "They will walk with Me in White, for they are worthy". It doesn't mean we consider ourselves worthy (that judgment is up to God, because only He judges righteous judgment), but we know the bases are keeping His commands (1 Jn 3:23,24).

OK ty for clarifying. I didn't know what that meant.

They are receiving the substance in the Vine--the eternal life that is located only in the Son (1 Jn 5:11), the Spirit (1 Jn 3:24)--as long as they're abiding by obeying God's commands to believe in the Name of God's Son and love one another (1 Jn 3:23,24).

Abiding In Christ Necessary for Eternal Life

Paul, at the end of his life, finally says "I have run my race, I have kept the faith". Lord Jesus calls those who have already "conquered" by faith, believers in the Churches, to yet "conquer"--"to the one who conquers..."

Following Him... Abiding in Him... Believing in Him... the one who is coming to Me... None of these is "one-and-done".

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

    That's my view. Seems Biblical.

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

I've heard it said this way: for Christians, sin is the exception not the rule.

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

I've seen a lot of OSASers teach that, even if they're not saved by their good works, if they're not living in holiness, then they really should doubt whether they're saved in the first place, because the Spirit is supposed to be keeping them living in holiness until the end. This is...

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

"Abideth in Him"--but "little children" are often led away from abiding in Him by idolatry (1 Jn 2:28, 5:21), which is why it can be said "there is no condemnation" for those "in Christ", and yet that the Christian who does not walk by faith can be condemned--they're not abiding in Him by...

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

Romans 6:14 tells the Jewish Christians in the Roman Church "Sin will not make you its slave (will not master you) because you are not under Law but under Grace", and Romans 7 is an illustration of just that--of the Jew ("in the flesh" (Ro 7:5)--Christians are "not in the flesh" (Ro 8:9)) under...

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

Yeah but they're not all the same. That's why I'm saying I don't judge based solely on doctrine. For instance, John Piper, who is OSAS, said he received a grace whereby he was kept from being attracted to any woman other than his wife after he married. That's holiness by grace!

Christ's sinless Head with a sinful body?

It's because they don't know how to read Romans 7. They claim Romans 7 is the life of Paul as a Christian--completely conquered by sin, and incapable of keeping God's Law (though he immediately after says he keeps God's Law (Ro 8:4)), and at the end, he says, "with my mind I serve the Law of...

"Boy", you also deny people who are explicitly said to have faith actually have faith.
