    Carnal Hypocrisy of Sabbath Commanders

Does grace allow you to disregard the commandment to have no gods before God? If not, what Biblical precedent is there for retaining the First Commandment but disregarding the Fourth?

    Carnal Hypocrisy of Sabbath Commanders

C'mon, we ain't legalistic. By definition, a Legalist is one who attempts to gain salvation by works. SDAs teach works are merely the outward evidence of our chosen inward spiritual condition.

    Carnal Hypocrisy of Sabbath Commanders

Let's see if we can spot any "carnal hypocrisy" here: SDAs worship in Spirit and in Truth, working on Sabbath is forbidden (except for Biblical precedent like Jesus healing, emergencies, etc.), I return tithe on gross plus offerings, the Law of Moses and the Law of God are Biblically distinct...

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

He's called "Samuel" because it was a demon impersonating Samuel. How do we know? Because "the dead know not anything...neither have they a portion in anything that is done under the sun...(and)...he shall return no more to his house". What's terrible hermeneutic is ignoring what other texts...

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

You seem to have totally missed what I meant by "Jesus was..." Try checking the post I was responding to.

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

Solomon says it couldn't have been Samuel. So does Job. Did you ever read in Job where it says the dead will not be raised out of their sleep? Or, where he says the dead don't know or perceive? Or, where Job says a dead man shall return no more to his house? What about Solomon? He said the...

    Agreed. Thank you.

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

"And all flesh went into the Ark, two by two, WHEREIN IS THE BREATH OF LIFE". (Jesus was breathing "spiritual life" aka "sanctifying power" - NOT the "life giving principle of God which animates the inanimate". They already had that, as evidenced by their speech, motor function, farts, etc.)

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

Are Jerusalem, Sodom, and Gomorrah still burning with their eternal fires which shall not be quenched? Does "forever" (Greek: "Aionios") mean "duration-either undefined but not endless, or undefined because endless"???

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

I think we're splitting hairs here. Calvinism doesn't deny our free will choice to get fries or onion rings...it denies we have free will choice to accept or decline salvation. That's not Biblical - else the Biblel wouldn't have included all those verses about our responsibility to choose wisely.

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

Let's keep things straight: There's a difference between using your brain to choose to work, and using your brain to do the work. You paid for the latter, NOT THE FORMER.

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

Do your 37 English translations also say Jerusalem was burned with fire "that shall not be quenched" and Sodom and Gomorrah suffered "the vengeance of eternal fire"??? I'm glad to only have to ask once, not 37 times: "Is Jerusalem, Sodom, and Gomorrah still burning today?

Can you sum up what your point was for me?

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

And it's a habitual habit with you to deny the facts of Scripture and selectively quote it to establish your incoherent drivel...as well as utilizing false equivalences, verses separated from context, and now disregarding the OT Hebrew in favor of the LXX when you think it proves your point. You...

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

The nutjobs are the ones who take the strongest words the Greek tongue possesses which indicate "destroy" and "destruction" and turn them into "maintain an everlasting but wretched existence". "Destroy both body and soul in hell" means "still there and conscious and writhing in agony"...

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

Good, and I think I've shown you full well that by making "God of the living" teach that the dead go to heaven before the resurrection, Christ's argument with which He proves the resurrection is stolen from Him.

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

By you choosing to make "Samuel" the Samuel of Scripture, you are calling Job and Solomon liars. Both said dead Samuel cannot return to the living, nor have anything to do with anything under the sun.

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

What? No, what I'm doing is establishing a Biblical basis for interpretation which the entire Christian world almost seems to want to ignore...GENESIS 2:7 KJV. Of course...which is precisely why we read the ALL the verses that have impact on a subject. Doing so leads to only one conclusion...

The Smoke of their Torment Ascends Forever

Sure, they died spiritually, but what else happened that day which prevented the immediate physical death sentence of Adam and Eve? Can you think of anything? Hint: IT'S THE FOUNDATION OF THE GOSPEL ;)
