Wine or Juice at Last Supper

This is so true. Except for those people who are certain Jesus only came to take us out from under one set of laws, to then place a whole new set upon us.

    Squirrel problem

A small town was having a massive squirrel problem and each local church was trying to find a solution. The Presbyterian church called a meeting to decide what to do about their squirrel infestation. After much prayer and consideration, they concluded that the squirrels were predestined to be...

    Perception

That is exactly my point. You would dislike them to this day if it had not been for that chance encounter. As we add more information to our judging processes, our eyes see so much more. This is the basis of the Behavioral Modification classes I taught to ex-cons for a quarter of a century.

    Perception

Simply stated, it was just to help us think about our thoughts.

    Perception

It is a little frightening just how opposite that is from what Jesus said.

Wine or Juice at Last Supper

There was nothing new or different brought into that yearly meal that all Jews partook of to be of some special importance to a coming death. The food and drink items were what every Jewish family had placed on their tables for ages. Jesus simply used what He had on hand to illustrate His...

    What is ahead for America?

I think you will feel like such a fool when one of these cases is shown on HONEST, unedited filming, and you are suddenly faced with the specter of a deranged person smashing their own face against the corner of a table or some other object in order to try and claim "Police Brutality." Think...

    Matt 24/Rev 13 Timing?

And yet, Jesus kept the Jewish law, even right up to his death.

Wine or Juice at Last Supper

I think we read WAY too much into this. Other than Water, Wine from grapes, possibly Juice from various berries, and Milk, what other drinks did they have in Biblical times? I don't think even tea was ever mentioned.

    Perception

That's very perceptive. (No play on words intended.) Although we may "see" or sense something, the reason or source may not be what we might assume. Nor, might the "target" be what we suppose.

    Perception

Should we trust or rely upon the validity of our "reading" of those 'tells' as being accurate?

    Perception

Thinking like this: "Well, because I think (perceive) that your actions in a particular situation were mean or uncaring, then that MUST be what you intended...…. that you don't give a hoot about me." (That is exaggerating it a little bit to emphasize the idea.)

    Perception

Does anyone recognize this one?: Because of my reaction to something you did, your motive in doing it is therefore defined and verified by that reaction.

    Perception

Commendable. But, I really wanted to talk more about things like your first paragraph... BUT, before anything has been proven right or wrong. It just happened, and we are still enraged. Things that, in the 1886 Wild West, would have had us pulling our pistol and blowing someone away.

    Perception

What about some of the rest of you who read this, but haven't answered? Do you weigh out unseen possibilities and alternative scenarios when things happen in your life?
  16. Willie T

    Perception

Well, you are rare in the world of the rest of us humans. LOL
  17. Willie T

    Perception

BTW, I will get back to that reckless car incident and perception in a little while.
  18. Willie T

    Perception

That comes very close to describing the "perceptions" I am talking about.
  19. Willie T

    Perception

No, it is not. In fact, those dictionary definitions are not at all what most of us experience when we express a perception of a situation. To wit: Suppose you are driving down the road, and a car swerves directly in front of you and nearly hits you before it rockets off on down the road. You...

    Matt 24/Rev 13 Timing?

I believe you will find they were still Jews. Jesus did not institute a religion, contrary to popular belief. In fact, Jesus, Himself, was a Jew.
