    I am excited....

Well, at least THIS Catholic seems to be agreeable to allowing McGrath to breath the same air he does. LOL Alister McGrath: How Beauty, Meaning, and Purpose Brought an Atheist to Christianity. - The Catholic Astronomer

    I am excited....

Am I thinking of a different book? Didn't Ellen White write it? I do, however admit that I liked this particular line of that book she wrote: "All the predictions given by Christ concerning the destruction of Jerusalem were fulfilled to the letter. The Jews experienced the truth of His words...

    The Absurdity of Preterism

Actually, every single person posting here is a Partial Preterist.

    I am excited....

This was only one half of one page of well over 500 pages. The scope of the book seems to reach into much more than just "Yea, Luther" and "Boo, Catholics." I've read at least a dozen books on Protestantism, and this is, so far, the best.

    I am excited....

I left a church that was almost a mirror image of the SDA (the CoC), so I think I will pass on that one.

    I am excited....

… to have discovered a recently written book concerning the development of Protestantism. Here is just a tiny excerpt from that book: THE TRIGGER FOR LUTHER’S REFORM: THE “INDULGENCE” CONTROVERSY The event that is traditionally held to mark the beginning of the European Reformation, and hence...

    The Absurdity of Preterism

Yes, Helen, you seem to understand what a confused mess I believe we have made of many of the words we randomly snatched from God's Bible.

    Great Lead-in

The narratives given by John Boy on The Waltons always get my head drifting off to the Blue Ridge Mountains. I love to read or listen to musings like these

    The Absurdity of Preterism

Now, isn't that convenient? LOL. I swear, I haven't seen such a desperate attempt at rationalism from even the Democrat or Republican congress.

    The Absurdity of Preterism

I thought Acts 2:16-17 said "the last days" began 2,000 years ago, and that they were already in them then. How does it work that we are supposedly still waiting for them to begin?

    What's Your Favorite Worship Song?

Unless you insist that worship songs have to come out of an officially printed church hymnal, here is a group that has done more than 600 songs you can hear right here. The ultimate sortable ApologetiX song listing

    The Absurdity of Preterism

No, it doesn't. All it means is that each of us may have (and probably did and do) read all sorts of things into the words God inspired men to write that were never intended to be taken the way we take them.

    The Absurdity of Preterism

Can anyone tell me what the purpose of Prophesy was throughout the Bible? I mean what did God always say He was having a Prophet speak His words to accomplish?

    The Absurdity of Preterism

I have heard all the absurdities of both the Preterists and the Futurists, so I just scanned this. But, really, have you ever calculated what it would take to amass that much blood to get a river like that? I mean, come on! There are only a total of about 10 pints of blood in the human body...

Matthew 10:8 - "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons..."

I am really surprised at what I am hearing. Some of you are actually saying that nonChristians should not be allowed in "your" buildings. I agree that they should be hearing "The Gospel" from each of us out on the streets and at work or school, but to say to, in effect, turn them away??????

Matthew 10:8 - "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons..."

Jesus never, ever told anyone to preach the gospel in our churches. He said to go into all the world and tell people there. But, even if He HAD said to preach the gospel in church buildings where the OP seems not to want to "open the doors" to others, the only ones who would be hearing the...
