Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

So you are saying if you believe that part of our New Covenant is not for you, you are following lies and make the word of God of non effect? Interesting you should say that person is following the devil.

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

I disagree, totally. The gifts, all of them, were part of our New Covenant - covenant being the operative word. Just as nothing ceased in the Old covenant until all was fullfilled by Christ, then ended, nothing ceases in the New Covenant, including the gifts of the Spirit, until Christ, Himself...

What is the old saying? "Ignorance is bliss." LOL

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

Your opinion which is based on the twisting of scripture into something unrecognizable will never bring you to truth. I doubt that even another Cessationist would agree with you. And I certainly couldn't.

And praise God they did! The Church was dead as Sardis is the church age just before it. Philadelphia is the Church that began the Charismatics and the Church started keeping the whole word of God, unlike Cessationist's Bible that doesn't believe half of of our new covenant.

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

I've read your interpretation of scripture, and it is mind boggling why you can't understand what is written, but make it say the exact opposite! Who does that!?! You and I have agreed on other subjects, but your inability to understand the gifts and our covenant puts you in a class by...

What's with this thing called THE APOCRYPHA?

Thanks for the tip on the Archko book. I just bought it off ebay.

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

Based on what? Did you actually speak in tongues, or were you doing what you were teaching others to do - fake it, till you make it.

What's with this thing called THE APOCRYPHA?

Yes, I like Lightfoot's translation, better than others.

What's with this thing called THE APOCRYPHA?

Off Amazon.com or Ebay. Look for Lost Books of the Bible and the forgotten books of Eden.

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

I left the AOG church for teaching some of the heresies I am against. There is a big difference in knowing ABOUT truth, and POSSESSING truth.

What's with this thing called THE APOCRYPHA?

If you have read it you will know it includes a prophecy that was not even close to being fulfilled at that early date when the epistles were gathered together to publish in one place. But when it was found on Mt. Siani, it was much closer, about 1400 years closer. And now, the fulfillment is...

What's with this thing called THE APOCRYPHA?

Have you ever read it? I believe it has inherent authority. That is what it means to be canonical.

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

I don't know what you were taught. Were you Pentecostal or just Charismatic, like a Baptist Charismatic? I am not a denominationalist, and believe all of our New Covenant. That is where we differ.

What's with this thing called THE APOCRYPHA?

You are entitled to your opinion, of course. The Epistle of Barnabas adds back what was already there in the first century. The Didache was a record of what some of those teachings were, some of which we no longer have. The E of B is where the Didache got what is now missing. I have never liked...

What's with this thing called THE APOCRYPHA?

Just so you know, not all our NT books were universally accepted as canonical when the list of books was finalized . Books such as 2 and 3 John, Hebrews and even Revelation weren't accepted by all. I was surprised. But those lists led me to read some of the books that wound up on 6 lists, but...

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

Going into a Catholic church doesn't make you a priest, or even an alter boy. It seems you were like I was for the first 6 years of knowing about the Spirit, just that you never got past only knowing about, to actually being filled and experiencing the awesome power. If you did, you wouldn't...

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

I doubt you were ever a Charismatic. Unfortunately, your reasoning has thrown you way off course in the land of no covenant.

Did people receive the Holy Spirit and speak in tongues? Or did they speak in tongues ....?

ROFL Another erroneous conclusion. You are like a plane without a navigation system who flies completely off course. You base one false premise onto another false premise and think you are going toward the land of truth, instead of into the depths of the ocean. We have no common ground as a...
