I think some who worship the Bible, and forget the instructions in righteousness, think God has gone on vacation. Maybe to Mars or some galaxy far, far, away. The result is they are hearers of the instructions, but have no faith in the gifts to DO the instructions.

You missed "instruction in righteousness." That is to walk in the Spirit. And He gives us tools to help. You think He gives instruction on how to use the gifts, and then takes them away once the manual is finished? That is just illogical, and making the manual itself an idol.

Prophecy, yes. Tongues, no. But, neither ceased completely. Just as there isn't a constant rain during dry spells, the gifts were in the early, and now latter rain.
