Thank you. Your explanation is clear. I just disagree with it. Respectfully...Mary

    What is Mariology?

Hi F2F, I may be misunderstanding you so I have to ask a clarifying question: Do you not believe Jesus is God? The quote from Ott Ludwig you provided does not say that "Mary should be praised". It says she is due "a special veneration". To venerate someone is to show great respect for them. Do...

Thanks Tong. I appreciate you taking the time to determine if I am giving my opinion or repeating Church doctrine. I still don't understand how you can say Acts 15 was not about doctrine. What is your definition of doctrine? Now to answer your question: If you read all of Acts 15 and put vs20 &...

    Good apologists

Hi f2f, Thanks for joining in on the conversation. Scripture makes it clear that Christ is the head of the church. Scripture also makes it clear that He appointed Apostles and in Luke 10:16 and John 20:23 He gave them authority that he didn't give to everyone of His disciples! Did that...

I agree with you on that. Did those elders appoint anyone to "rule over the church"?

OK....I can't argue with you. I am just trying to figure it out since I don't understand. Moving on.... Since you clearly believe that none of the popes have authority who did have authority over The Church after the death of the last Apostle? Patient Mary

    Good apologists

Hmmmm......So you were typing on your phone and the word "poops" was a typo. You obviously immediately recognized the the "typo" and immediately corrected that typo by saying "I meant popes". Why wouldn't you just back space and correct the typo? I don't understand! None the less.......Who has...

    Good apologists

I don't understand why you had to be so degrading with your "poops" comment" but if the Popes have no authority then who did after the last Apostle died? Curious Mary

    Biblical Mary

Well, the dictionary defines doctrine as "a principle of law established through past decisions". Which means any decision made in the past by church leaders, like at the Council of Jerusalem, is binding upon all Christians as "law". So YES it would be the same definition as The Churches...

    Biblical Mary

First, let me share with you how I define doctrine in our conversation: Doctrine is a truth taught by The Church. So to answer your question: Doctrines can't change because you can't change the Truth.

    What is Mariology?

Hi Iconoclast, Can you show me in Scripture where it says Mary had other children? I know Scripture says Jesus had brothers and sisters but I can't find anything in Scripture that supports your suggestion. Thanks....Mary

You agree with The Catholic Church on this matter.

Yes, the letter did establish doctrine. If it was already doctrine then why did Paul go to Jerusalem to discuss, argue and debate the matter with the church leaders and the other Apostles? If it was already doctrine what was there to discuss, debate and argue about???? If it was already...

    Biblical Mary

Thanks. I get your point. What I don't get is why you left off everything that happened BEFORE that? Let's put what you quoted IN CONTEXT: Then certain individuals came down from Judea and were teaching the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be...

    Biblical Mary

Ok..... But when I pray for you to our creator I am mediating which makes me a mediator so there is not only one mediator between God and man which is how YOU are interpreting that verse. St. Paul commands “supplications, prayers and intercessions to be made for all men…” Intercession is a...

Ok...educate me. If it was not new then show me where it was written doctrine BEFORE they held the Council at Jerusalem.

Sorry, but you are wrong. When we pray for each other, of which we are commanded to do, we are being a mediator. Mary

    The 'blessed virgin Mary'

Hmmmm....very good question. Would God need to make her entire lineage Immaculate so that she would be Immaculate? Or is it possible by grace and necessity he made only her Immaculate to carry His immaculate child?
