    Hebrews 1 says that the Lord Jesus 'by Himself purged our sins'. This presupposes the immense need for sins to be purged at the Cross. And our dependence on His doing exactly that in a perfect way for time and for eternity.

    It relates to the fact that 'all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God'. And so we need a Saviour.

    @Christophany As per Jude, good indeed to grasp that the faith refers to a whole body of doctrine from Scripture, rather than to a more subjective 'This is how feel/this is what it means to me' approach...

    @Jennifer Rogers The biggest success, so to speak, revolves around the Finished work of Christ, through whom the believer has the victory now that He is risen (1 Corinthians 15.57; Matthew 28.6); and now at the right hand of the Father our Great High Priest Who is passed into the heavens...

    @Christophany PS: Maybe Mrs. Christophany wasn't really surprised either that your daughters did it too....? (I saw a quote about just how prevalent tattoos are among young ppl in the Bible Belt now.)
