God is not mad, angry, with you.

The Holy Spirit Who inspired the Word, never contradicts or leads away from the Word. Indeed, His gracious work is necessary in understanding the Word, which is centred upon Christ.

    One and Triune God.

The chapter opens about having a humble attitude, of which Christ's example is perfect.

    The Great Tribulation now

Hi @John Stefan The great tribulation of Matthew 24 and the tribulation principle of John 16.33 (which all believers face) seem to be distinct, definitely.

Bible not coming "alive" to me anymore

Hi @friend of As per your OP, when we see Christ in the Scriptures and make reading and prayerful meditation our priority, then as Helen Lemmel said: '...the things of earth will grow strangely dim / In the light of His glory and grace.'

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Johann FYI - thread I started; sorry the poll already expired...

    What is saving faith?

Luther indeed wrote 'The bondage of the will', but he also widely and strongly preached justification by faith.

    Age for first ear piercings?

@Goldie75 Well, it can be a regular request / feature - in some families, and thus a topical subject, also, I guess. (It's also in the Bible, repeatedly, in various contexts.)

    One and Triune God.

The equality of the Lord Jesus with God is totally Scriptural.

    Home again! Praise the Lord.

Hi @michaelvpardo The Acts 2.42 exercise to identify with the gathered witness of others is indeed compelling....

God is not mad, angry, with you.

Re. Sola Scriptura, the final appeal should indeed be Scripture, which is what Sola Scripture basically means. Romans 4.3: "What saith the scripture?"

Does The Bible Speak Against Nudity?

@Pearl The subject seems anyway to have shifted in any case from the OP to what clothing styles ppl prefer others not to wear, etc.

    What is saving faith?

Hi @Johann I do appreciate A W Pink's writings; in some ways he is similar to RB Kuiper and J I Packer in pointing out the sovereignty of God in the Gospel. I do think the free offer of the Gospel is Scriptural.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@michaelvpardo So in personal, conscientious terms - if I can use that concept - do you think that small tattoos - albeit witness ones - are likely to be lived with better? (You mentioned a big tattoo recently that you didn't like.) As a long-term investment, so to speak, do you think smaller...

    What is saving faith?

Simple, trusting faith in Christ - in the spirit of John 3.16 and Proverbs 3.5-6 - surely includes repentance?

    Encouraging verses

Yes, keep up with the encouraging Bible verses... :)

    Bible Ribbons and bookmarks

@Goldie75 Yes, I love and use the King James in English, too...

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Goldie75 I guess that one believer might shrink from getting a tattoo. Another - maybe like the young lady that my wife and I talked with - might with a view to having a proven effective witness go to the parlor with positive relish, right? I reckon this is all inevitable up to a certain...

Pray for Agape Love on these Forums

@Goldie75 So is this the first book by Nancy Missler that you've read so far? (I myself am not familiar with the book.)
  19. F

How can you KNOW that you are saved and part of the elect?

John's First Epistle is also very searching; and the theme of assurance is strong: 'we know' seem to be keywords.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Goldie75 Some good verses there... I guess it shows that motive is so important, right? Already I may have mentioned to you that my wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area; if an evangelistic motive were hers, I reckon that her experience would...
