    In the ever present now…..

The King James also has 'kept' at 1 Peter 1.5. I love the 'keep's at Hebrews 7.25 and Jude 24: 'able to save'; 'able to keep'.....

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@soul man This would include tattoos, right? Good they have witness opportunities.

Did God give you another name?

Reminds me also of what John the Baptist said about himself: "He must increase, but I must decrease" (john 3.30).

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@michaelvpardo It's also true that ppl with tattoos — strangers — sometimes even confer with each other about them; this for someone with a Scripture or faith based tattoo can be a natural opportunity for testimony.

    Enemies Of The Cross

@soul man In chapter 2, Paul has already spoken about the Lord Jesus having 'humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross'. So the warning in chapter 3 that you mention comes after the reminder not to neglect the One Who went to the Cross.

    One and Triune God.

@Heart2Soul The wondrous truth of God in Three Persons is so deeply Biblical that when ppl continue to deny it against all Biblical evidence, it's hard to know what else can be profitably said...

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@michaelvpardo It's also interesting that the heart logo is among the most popular of tattoo symbols, isn't it?

Why I support the inerrancy of Scripture!

Let me put it this way: To get the meaning out of the passage is exegsis. To put meaning into the passage is eisegeis.

Why I support the inerrancy of Scripture!

How about the intermediate stage? helpful commentaries, lexicons and the wise obligation to study a passage? To proclaim by God's grace what a passage means, is more blessed than 'This is what it means to me'.

Why I support the inerrancy of Scripture!

Which takes precedence? what the English says or what the original languages say? That is the question. When ppl answer, The English, then this to me seems cultish.

    Finding a church

I do think when for example a Christian couple unsparingly spends years entertaining and encouraging young ppl and older in their home, making them know they are welcome and without regard to their personal inconvenience and cost, then this is more in the spirit of the liberality of NT times...

Why I support the inerrancy of Scripture!

Yes, the Holy Spirit does indeed graciously lead His people in personal and collective Bible study and such study is very profitable indeed. I guess my point is, it's not our enthusiastic deliberations that ultimately infuse meaning into the text, neither does the English 'correct' the...

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@michaelvpardo Oh I take your point about underlying consistent realities being more strategically reliable than appearances, indeed. All the young ppl with Bible verses inked that I have talked to seem to have had them done for testimony reasons, anyway.

revisited remastered PRE TRIBULATION RAPTURE ?

There is a difference between the great tribulation in Matthew 24 and the tribulation principle in John 16.33.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@michaelvpardo While it's a good start, there's so much other wealth to be gleaned from God's Word, indeed. I guess in a sense, having a John 3.16 tattoo visible is like saying: 'This is what I want to talk about!' right? :)
