Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@michaelvpardo It's interesting that John 3.16: 'For God so loved...' is part of a quote which seems to be used by Christian young men and women receiving inking on their arm as a witness tool. All the young ppl with Bible verses inked that I have talked to seem to have had them done for...

    Finding a church

Hi @michaelvpardo It seems that the Coolidge approach to church life is alive and well today. (Perhaps another word for the commercialized professing church is Babylon?)

Is God Insincere With The Gospel Offer?

Hi @ByGraceThroughFaith In a sense, I think 1 Corinthians 11.26 is a key: as we look back to the cross and as we look forward to His coming, meanwhile by His grace — in all this intervening period — we can keep proclaiming the Gospel to every creature, 'till He come'.

    The Pre-Trib Rapture

The great tribulation of Matthew 24 seems to refer to a unique, future event, while in John 16.33 it is the general tribulation principle that is definitely in view, with the comforting assurance also: 'but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world'.

    The Pre-Trib Rapture

It's a matter of asking 'Who?' as well as 'What?". Does 1 Corinthians 11.26 refer to Israel being raptured? No, it refers to the church.

    Encouraging verses

@Marvelloustime A precious challenge and aspiration day by day, by God's grace.

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Rudometkin People do have their strongly held viewpoints; and don't be surprised if your wife finds it hard to get accustomed to the idea even of others getting faith based tattoos. But all the young ppl with Bible verses inked that I have talked to seem to have had them done for testimony...

Lol on your “Christian only” take

@Rudometkin It comes back to the principle of Hebrews 11.6: "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him."

Why I support the inerrancy of Scripture!

Yes, by God's grace the inerrancy of Scripture seems indeed to be correct approach. What we have in extreme conservative circles today sometimes is the idea that, just as ppl sit around in a conversational Bible study saying subjectively 'This is what it means to me', so also what every...

    Philippians Chapter 3

@soul man The whole chapter seems to contain a warning not to fall back into religious custom and ritual. Justified by faith, Paul wishes to 'press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus' (v.14).

    Lost To The Past

@Pearl Reminds me of Psalm 134.14: "I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well."

    Seeing Jesus In Scripture

@soul man It's one thing to read the Word of God; but we need the Holy Spirit to reveal to us that the central theme of the written Word of God is the living and eternal Word Himself. :)

    This most important possession….

@Not me People talk about being born again, but in this verse is the test: being born again unto a living hope... :)

    Pray i'll overcome my hatred

Always for those who trust the Lord is to keep 'looking unto Jesus, the Author and Finisher our faith, Who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross' (Hebrews 12.2). When we do so, the experience of the hymn-writer may come about: '...and the things of earth will grow strangely dim...

Faith-based tattoo: as a result of one, did you ever talk with someone? (Poll included)

@Ziggy Kind of, as a personal reminder, then, I guess? I do love Malachi! such a little prophecy with such searching content applicable to pilgrim, isolated believers....

    Hour of Temptation

(Relevant to this thread also...) @Ziggy I love the hymn: 'Oh Saviour Christ, Thou too art man, Thou hast been tempted, tested, tried, Thy kind but searching gaze would scan The very wounds that shame would hide.' He was indeed 'in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin'...

Mary found the tomb empty...where did Jesus body go?

I love the hymn: 'Oh Saviour Christ, Thou too art man, Thou hast been tempted, tested, tried, Thy kind but searching gaze would scan The very wounds that shame would hide.' He was indeed 'in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin' (Hebrews 4.15) and so we can come boldly to the...

Mary found the tomb empty...where did Jesus body go?

Hebrews chapter 2 as a whole is very helpful reading. I do love Hebrews.

Mary found the tomb empty...where did Jesus body go?

There was not any sinful nature in the Lord Jesus that could even respond to temptation; hence the force of John 14.30. Most gloriously, it follows: "For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted." (Hebrews 2.18)

The Rapture: Too Good to Be True?

1 Corinthians 11.26 does not refer to Israel....
