    New Here: a Reluctant Agnostic

Hi. I grew up in a religion/faith that never encouraged a personal relationship with Jesus, and now actively discourages such a thing. Yet I 'believed' in the existence of God, who I believed to be the creator. Then a Christian friend asked me, "do you think God approves of your current...

New, Reluctant Agnostic, hope it's okay to post here

I agree with Amadeus. With some this is possible... There are some good folk here. But all here are people. I pray you may have the wisdom to discern between the good and the not so good. Welcome.

    Intolerance

The height of irony. A thread discussing tolerance/toleration, and posters expressing intolerance. The question therefore... If tolerance is limited, and intolerance conditional, how do we work out righteous parameters in which to exercise judgement on matters that challenge our cherished...

Does The Bible Speak Against Nudity?

There's always someone willing to push the envelope of social acceptability, which is why we are where we are today. In the midst of an age of moral relativity and decadence.

Most Christians boldly proclaim "I know Him" but do NOT guard/keep His commandments!

Which leads us to a further consideration. We must assume that God desires His true character to be revealed and made known right? And that verily was revealed at Calvary. Self sacrificing love. Total complete unselfish mercy mingled with justice demonstrating His true nature, thus offering...

Most Christians boldly proclaim "I know Him" but do NOT guard/keep His commandments!

That's a good point. The angels fell because they doubted God's character. Their faith floundered on the slander and lies of Lucifer. Rebellion, one of several descriptors of sin, then became inevitable. So sin comes about because we don't believe God's word, and doubt His love and goodness...

Most Christians boldly proclaim "I know Him" but do NOT guard/keep His commandments!

We are born with the propensity to sin, yes. But those who are born again, those who are now new creatures in Christ, whose old man, the fleshly carnal nature died with Jesus upon the cross and now being risen with Him having power to overcome, being filled with the Spirit of the Almighty God...

    HERESY?

And I might add, yes, Jesus promised that those who accept Him will never die. I would never doubt that. That is, after all, the Christian hope. Eternal life. KJV John 17:3 3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. The...

    HERESY?

I don't doubt your testimony. I am sure your prayer was answered. After all, God is a gracious merciful God, and has promised to respond to the faith of His children. Even to those who don't pray at all, He blesses. God is always good. Always.

    HERESY?

They are dead. Mary is dead. Joseph is dead. They see not, hear not, nor can they speak, think, or intercede for anyone. What are you afraid of that you refuse to approach God in person?

Where can I find a really shy woman for a relationship?

    Have you ever wondered the meaning and implications of this... KJV Ephesians 5:24-25 24 Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing. 25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

Sin has always been a choice Robert. If it were not a choice, then we could excuse it.

Where can I find a really shy woman for a relationship?

@ShyIntrovert There was a 19yo woman once whose match making auntie said, "the Lord has a husband for you. " This auntie was very well known in the district, the church, and the family for her match making successes. Those she brought together, stayed together. The young lady in question...

It is isn't it. I can't lay claim to it's authorship though.

Amen. This entire thread, while extolling God's Commandments, is but another excuse to disobey them using 'love' as a mollifying ointment. A loveless law is no less or more useless than a lawless love.

What Things Would you Like to See, Functioning In Church

What I would like to see in the church is the answer to this prayer of Jesus...KJV John 17:9-11, 15-23 9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. 11 And now I...

    Zechariah 14 . . . Fulfilled? or Future?

So. I have a certain view on these events, and on Zechariah 14 and would love to share them, but no-one is listening. So there's no way I'm getting into this discussion. Too much agro.

    Debate: S'mores and Camping Food

Not wanting to throw a spanner into your culinary delights, but just a gentle fyi that aluminum foil is not good for wrapping and cooking food. The aluminum leeches out into the food... It's a known carcinogen. It's also very convenient.
