    Christians and Guns

I am a gun owner...ex-target shooter and ex-hunter. To me it is a sport. I wouldn't think of hurting people with guns or knives or other potential weapons. I can also swing at a baseball without thinking of a bat as a weapon to hurt others with. The example of the Swiss (who are avid shooters)...

    Discernment vs. condemnation judgments

A spiritual person makes spiritual judgments. He/she can judge all things from that perspective....from that place. Of course that seems arbitrary to people who have not entered into the spiritual life. Since everybody seems to be judging from themselves. But this very trait or antic of men...

believe in it? I've walked in it.:) I don't know what makes you think I don't believe in life in the next age? But nobody is eternally saved until their life here is over. A race is never determined during the race. Judge nothing before the time. However, the bible speaks of entering into an...

Very good point. As long as people can live the American dream today...without any disturbance....and still hold out for dying to self later...when we actually die...there's no hatred. But if one has to choose between Christ and the American dream...well there's gonna be trouble...

How do you know you are on the narrow way...??? When you are a threat to the religious aspirations of people! Paul said that he was made to be as filth in this world....treated as our Lord was. Suffering the same indignities for being in Christ. To live sacrificially is to walk the narrow...

    CHURCH

Is this backwards day? ;) The opposite is true. It speaks only of Christians. This is false. A Christian is held to a higher standard than the regular mortal....not lower as you are suggesting. and your post gets worse from here....

Scripture is not the last word.

(Jas 5:9) Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

What's with the "achieving" perfection shtick? Jesus already did that. Where is the faith in Him? We simply enter into Jesus in order to partake of HIS perfection. Jesus is our perfection. He did it. So then all we need to do is to enter into Him so we can walk as He walked by abiding IN Christ...

Not at all. Jesus was fully human as well as fully God. As such His "previous" perfection was not as a man but as a Spirit. The experience of suffering through what we go through was necessary in order for Him to become the author of OUR salvation. Jesus didn't need saving...we do! God can't...

    The Righteousness of God

At what time? I don't think many actually understand how salvation works. We can walk in salvation NOW by entering into Christ....for a reward. This is to do eternal works. But you must also finish your race and do well in your temporal quality... So we are being saved by grace through...

    The Righteousness of God

Again you are not seeing the distinction between being saved NOW by walking in Christ....and being saved at the end of our lives once our races are finished....at the judgment. There s both an eternal life and a temporal life to consider. If we have walked in the eternal life we will bear an...

    The Righteousness of God

You are actually speaking of two different things here. There is a parable where Jesus speaks of 2 sons. One says that he will obey his father and the other says he won't. But the one who says he will...doesn't and the one who said he won't...does. So which one is deemed righteous? The same...

Gods Standard is...the fruit of the Spirit by entering into His rest...not us trying harder to be more Christian by our own power and effort to be good.

    The Righteousness of God

At the reformation we see human interpretation gaining credibility. Just this issue of an "imputed" righteous that one bestows on himself for a belief...is proof that the standard of Christ has been thrown away in favour of pleasing men. Only God can personally impute righteousness on a person...

It is one thing to not have the faith to fulfill the commands of the Lord...and quite another to teach others from that lack of faith. It is better to say...I cannot...but others can....rather than I cannot and others can do no better than me. Humility is better than foolish pride. And we will...

After picking a lot of fat and gristle off that bone... There is SOO much unbelief going on here.

    Gods Standard is...

Nancy. it is one thing to lack faith in one's own walk...but another to declare that others can't fulfill what God has clearly commanded. What does this mean...perfect Christians? We are already made perfect by simply entering into Christ. Mature? of course not. So what you could say...

If we could just see ourselves so often.. Look at the Jewish standard of torah. The rabbis teach that although no one can do all the mitzvot (laws) any effort towards the torah will produce a benefit. For the rabbis...it is NOT all or nothing. (otherwise they would lose all their followers)...

We are fortunate to have a common departure point....the written word. But from there there are many flights of fancy...as well as journeys into the mysteries of God. Our task is to get on the right track! :)
