    What is The Great Delusion?

Luther opened a pandora's box of trouble when he made private and erroneous conclusions based on his idea of salvation by feeling saved based on convincing oneself of salvation through the reading of half-truths into the bible. So the delusion is the clever infiltration of half-truths as the...

    The false gospel of grace

It's all in the details...the little words. The gospel is BY grace not the subject itself of the gospel. So there is no gospel OF grace. The gospel is always of the kingdom of God...a place. It's like when you go to work BY car. Is your work the car itself? No. It is the means by which you go...

What does "walk worthy of God" mean?

To walk at least in righteousness. The Christian walk is righteousness built upon righteousness. His on ours. When we walk in holiness by faith...we are walking in the righteousness of God. If we are not walking in the Spirit then we should yet retain humility, uprightness and the fear of the Lord.

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

There is yet hope for such a person...hence the effort to reason with and communicate with the deeper person of the heart. :)

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

Good point. The protection of something that the flesh is holding on to...masquerading as faith from the inner man. But it is the outer man wanting to be "saved". Jesus said that we must give up our lives to find life in Him. Paul said that he counts all things as dung that he might win...

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

The truth is that some non-Christians are closer to the truth that they seem to disagree with (or disregard)....and some Christians are further from the truth they seem to agree with. Welcome to humanity! :)

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

I see delusions arising as taking some things for granted that are in error...as in a foundation that you may think is secure but will shake apart when tested severely enough. Until then all seems well. Sometimes people just don't have the concept or paradigm in their makeup to be able to...

How were the O T saints saved?

God loves His people. Those He saves are by His mercy towards them that please Him. But there is a criteria for salvation and that is righteousness. The OT saints were declared righteous by God. God justified them because of something they did...that in God's eyes justified them. Now no man...

    On being a Saint

The higher one goes in the Lord, the more you have to leave behind. That works for natural human relational things as well as natural human things regarding ourselves. If we still indulge our own ideas, opinions, thoughts...etc, then we are not yet in the presence of God. Quite the opposite.

    Why are you here?

I spend a lot of time in the word and in meditation. So the forum breaks things up during the day in order to stimulate my seeking, share some of the more understandable things I have received, and to challenge me in my having patience with others. I look for spiritual moments with people. I'm...

Luke 16 the rich man in hell lift up his eyes in torment

Too real. Maybe Lazarus' name was altered from Jehoshaphat or something to protect his identity. As in..."this is based on a true story." The kicker in all this is that people will not be easily warned of their impending judgment...even if someone is raised from the dead. The wise don't need...

    Praying for you brother....:)

    In & out

There's the problem right there. You are doing what so many are doing that call themselves believers...picking your verses and expecting God to reward you for ignoring the rest of His counsel. I'm surprised you don't claim salvation for yourself. Maybe you haven't found those verses yet...

    In & out

Do you want to be fixed to your purpose or to God's purpose? God doesn't want us just to enjoy this life as much as possible and then die. He wants to get you on track for eternal life...but a life lived in and through God. Struggles help us to focus on what is really important. If our...

PETER AND PAUL PREACHED THE SAME GOSPEL

Rom. 1:5 By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: So many misunderstand grace. Grace is the power to minister Christ and to walk as He walked. Very few are called this way. But the light of grace is to shine to the world "for...

    On being a Saint

This change is in reference to the priesthood and holiness laws...temple holiness. From the Levitical priesthood to that of the order of Melchizedek. (Hebrews 7:26, 27) What was once symbolic yet weak through the flesh...is now fulfilled by walking in the Spirit by grace...thus actually going...

    Stumbling block before the blind?

It is of interest that the word "Hebrews" (Ivrim) in Hebrew sounds exactly like "the blind" (Ivrim) in Hebrew. The only difference is the silent letter at the beginning of the word. The silent letter at the beginning of the word for Hebrews (Ivrim) is an ayin...which is the symbol of an eye. So...

The Flawed Reasoning Of Total Depravity

Like any man-made doctrine...total depravity has a good point...but goes too far. If this extremist doctrine were true...there would be no need for free will or a judgment. We could not be held responsible for the evil we in fact do...as it would be seen as the animals who do things by nature...

What is God doing in your life right now?

Amen to God's providence! I retired at 43 to serve the Lord full time...without any salary. It's been 17 years now. Best time for my wife and I also. I love spending time in the word and in His presence in solitude...and this is a gift from God. I also thank the Lord for His spiritual...

    Lonliness

Solitude Creates Space for God To live a Christian life means to live in the world without being of it. It is in solitude that this inner freedom can grow. Jesus went to a lonely place to pray, that is, to grow in the awareness that all the power he had was given to him; that all the words he...
