There are spiritual forces at work that your mocking tone will only encourage. And I'm not saying those forces are good. You can remain confident in yourself...but it is ignorance that you are exhibiting. Unless God holds back the full force of the deceiver....until you are ready to overcome...

Jesus did say He came to bring a sword....and division....and a fire. Spiritual Christians recognize other spiritual Christians. Religious Christians recognize other religious Christians. And never the 2 will meet. Add to that the different maturity levels...and it can get quite confusing...

The more mature a believer gets the more God allows the full deceptive powers of darkness to test him. Think of it like belts in karate. You don't take on the harder competitors until you advance farther.

Salvation by works...is...Judaism. Paul was against bringing Gentiles into Judaism and so bringing them under the law...instead of the full freedom of grace. So then the works of the law are...a physical circumcision...kosher eating....sabbath keeping...etc...

What happens is that God leads us slowly into ALL truth...ALL righteousness...and a FULL obedience. As such we are given a measure of these things. God expects more from us as we go along. So for us they are moving targets. We can't say after doing the initial things....there I'm done! When you...
