    The Righteous

    Some people...
  2. Episkopos

    Jesus and Commands

OK I'll start a thread...called "The key of David."
  3. Episkopos

    Outer Darkness

Azazel:escape goat Satan? That is a Jewish "fable". We see the same type of thing when Jesus is presented to the people....together with Jesus Barabbas. But it represents the Bema judgment.
  4. Episkopos

    Outer Darkness

An opinion....but not in the bible. Jude says ...the blackness of darkness for ever. It is an eternal destiny.
  5. Episkopos

    Jesus and Commands

Actually a tent peg. I speak more of it in the thread called "AND".
  6. Episkopos

    Outer Darkness

I don't think so. I take the bible as it reads. The scapegoat was sent into the wilderness to wander there. It is a constant theme in the bible. Even Jude calls them...wandering stars...

    The Righteous

Mic. 6:8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?

propitiation by His blood, through faith

The only ones who can fail obeying the gospel are they to whom it has been committed. To whom much is given MORE is required.
  9. Episkopos

    Jesus and Commands

It is akin to David taking the place of king Saul. The church of David and the church of Saul. It is interesting that the name Shebna means nothing at all in Hebrew...but God showed me a mystery here. When it says that a peg will be removed from a secure place...that is the Hebrew letter vav...

    The Righteous

I think he is more upset at me. :) But I think he needs to hear the voice that cries out for humility before an awesome God. No one knows the outcome on that day. There will be huge surprises. I pray that they will be joyous ones.

    The Righteous

yes. There are always distinctions to be made for things that are moving targets. The truth is alive....and moves. That is why the Christian experience is called "a walk".
  12. Episkopos

    Outer Darkness

No. Outer darkness is one possible outcome for people who hold the truth in unrighteousness. (Rom. 1:18) I try to help people to steer clear of that possibility. It is so important to embrace a true humility. As long as I have breath I will stress this. There is also the righteous nations (of...

    The Righteous

Of course not. They are on 2 different levels. One is through the power of the flesh. The other is through the power of God.

    IMPUTATION

The "doozie" here is to leave God out of the equation completely and assume He justifies you because you say so. The "doozies" don't get more presumptuous than that. But the truth is that He gives grace to the HUMBLE....not the presumptuous. (this is actually in the bible)
  15. Episkopos

    Jesus and Commands

Have you looked at the churches of Philadelphia and Laodicea through the parallel with Eliakim and Shebna? (Is. 22)
  16. Episkopos

    IMPUTATION

This thread is about people imputing righteousness on themselves because of their beliefs. And very few will see a problem with that. Abraham did not impute anything to himself. Neither did Phinehas. God spoke up for these. But all this imputing stuff is mere speculation...on the part of...
  17. Episkopos

    IMPUTATION

Ps. 106:30 But Phinehas stood up and intervened, and the plague was checked. 31 This was imputed to him as righteousness for endless generations to come. Phinehas killed 2 people to get this credit from God. But I don't think we should make a doctrine of it. God decides things...not us.
  18. Episkopos

    John 9:35-41

In your opinion that is. Mat. 10:28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.

    Eternal Security?

And a righteous man feeds the homeless...because they are hungry.
  20. Episkopos

    Eternal Security?

Jesus is the saviour of the whole world. The proud and religious might want to claim Him for themselves by creating religious hoops that they want others to jump through. But fortunately God doesn't look to men for approval. We are , however to seek the approval of God...which IS...
