    Eternal Security

Never saved in the first place, else the efficacy of work of Christ would be put in doubt.

Jesus in his earthy ministry didn't know that Gentiles would become heirs.

@Waiting on him Good to see you; I hope you and @VictoryinJesus are doing well.

Jesus in his earthy ministry didn't know that Gentiles would become heirs.

@Waiting on him Great verses there! the Lord by His Spirit caused those verses to be penned, and it would be hard to claim that the Lord Jesus did not know them.

    Your favorite Psalm?

Hi @TEXBOW I was at a Bible study not long ago, and this was a passage we were studying. It was noted that the Old Testament, earthly character of Israel in the land is very much part of the background of the Psalm.

@Cassandra ...and metaphorically, fudge seems to be a perennial way of doing politics....

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Cassandra In any case, it's become so mainstream and widespread, hasn't it? All the young people with Bible verses tattooed that I have talked to seem to have had them done for evangelistic reasons.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@FluffyYellowDuck Well, it's so widespread to have one's nose studded and get a bit of ink that it's really not surprising that your mom - who if she went to fashion school, is likely very fashion-conscious - helped and encouraged you a bit to have it done... In any case, a simple little nose...

Personification of the earth in scripture.

@FluffyYellowDuck God indeed allows certain things to happen in the world. While the Lord Jesus has overcome the world! (John 16.33)

Think about it: How Would You Quit the Internet for Life

@FluffyYellowDuck Good when a local congregation practises Acts 2.42 in Biblical simplicity....

    Anti-reformers month

@reformed1689 "He by Himself purged our sins" (Hebrews 1) shows that the purging of sins, properly understood, occurred entirely at the Cross; now a finished work, denoted by the fact that He sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Wynona Thanks! Anyway I thought that what the fictitious Mandi and Jim said from their different perspectives are quite typical among different Christians, don't you? In any case, ink is so widespread, and - as Mandi "said" - just because she had several tattoos, it doesn't necessarily mean...

    Prayer

@FluffyYellowDuck My wife seems to have bad dreams but in the morning can't remember a thing about them.... (My dreams are less bad than stupid.....)

    The Shield of Faith/Ephesians 6:16

@Wynona Hebrews 11, with its repeated "by faith", "by faith", "by faith", is also a passage which comes to mind! :)

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

Thanks, @Wynona . Did you also see my post #1363, above, with an imaginary but realistic dialogue? Some of the cautionary element of what you say is reflected in the dialogue I posted.

Isaiah 48.10: "I have chosen thee in the furnace of affliction".

@Truman YW, there is so much in Isaiah....
