God reconciled the world unto himself, through Christ.

@MatthewG Fashionable talk places the topic of reconciliation as being a political thing among people - with a veneer of Christianity perhaps - but Biblically the reconciliation is through Christ between God and sinners (2 Corinthians 5.18) and also by the breaking down of the middle wall of...

Pictures and types - Hidden In Plain Sight

Hi @MatthewG It's good indeed to understand the context of the signs and wonders in the Apostolic period as being before the complete record in Scripture of 'the faith once delivered to the saints' (Jude) was available.

    The Person Of Christ

@soul man Acts 2 is also so pivotal in that the Spirit of God came to indwell all believers in the risen Lord Jesus Christ. :)

    Reformers month (part 2)

@Lifelong_sinner The subject of the grace of God in the Gospel is indeed a wondrous one, seen especially in Ephesians chapters 1 & 2.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@GodsGrace I think you said anyway that in Italy in your area also developments are that many young ppl especially young women now feel confident enough to acquire some ink.

    Reformers month (part 2)

@Blood Bought 1953 A Berean spirit shows a willingness to learn; 2 Peter 2.18 says: "Grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ".

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Cassandra All the young people with Bible verse tattoos with whom I have spoken seem to have had them done for evangelistic reasons. I can understand them thinking that using the tattoo parlor for this purpose is compelling.

Christians and Jews are both anti Acts 2:38.

@Cassandra There is indeed plenty of evidence in the NY for the Resurrection and for Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

    Luke 1:43

@GodsGrace Plenty of evidence in the NT that Father, Son and Holy Spirit are God, equally so. Romans 8 speaks of all three, as does John's First Epistle.

    A Purpose In Suffering

@MatthewG Part of the anguish and pain of David was felt in repentance in Psalm 51.

    Age for first ear piercings?

@MatthewG Just as for young men and women the 18th birthday is often around the time for the first visit to the parlor for a long-planned tattoo (maybe even with a tattoo gift certificate), it's likely that a year or two before then both adolescent young men and women often expect the studs to...

The Myth of saying that Jesus Christ died for all men without exception !

@MatthewG The OT sacrifices done in faith pointed forward to the Cross; now we look back at a finished work, Hebrews chapters 9 & 10. (Not all who claim to believe are actually in the good of what was done at the Cross.)

    Age for first ear piercings?

@MatthewG Perhaps this reinforces the wisdom of going to the mall jeweler's to have it done (or even to the tattoo parlor where they likely also do it). I think if an adolescent young man really wants to have studs put in his parents should probably just let him, or even take him to the jeweler...

    Age for first ear piercings?

@MatthewG You've talked a bit about ink; did you also do the ear piercing thing? (Sorry the poll already expired.)

    A Purpose In Suffering

@MatthewG We may recall Luke 22.43 about the Lord Jesus in Gethsemane: "And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him."

    IS JESUS THE ONLY WAY?

    @JohnPaul John 14.6 :)
  18. F

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@JohnPaul You can maybe understand at least why the various young people with faith based tattoos with whom I have talked have seemingly wanted strongly to go to the parlor for Bible verse inkings that would be effective in starting conversations. (Even if you yourself wouldn't get any more ink.)

A Closer Look at the Genesis Creation Account

@JohnPaul Remarkably, John 1.3-4 also says: "Without Him was not anything made that was made. In Him was life..."

    just a question about enemies

Hi @JohnPaul Amindst everything else, the Spirit-led reaction should be 'Looking unto Jesus....Who for the joy that was set before Him, endured the Cross, despising the shame...' (Hebrews 12.2).
