    Do you believe the lie?

Was it your intention when you created this thread for it to become a NOSAS vs. OSAS debate? I don't think it was, but I'll let you clarify that. If that was the intention, wouldn't it be better to create such a thread in the Soteriology forum instead of in the Eschatology forum?

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

Okay, hold on now. Let's not go there. I know that covenantee does not believe that Matthew 24:30-31 was fulfilled in 70 AD and rather will be fulfilled at the future return of Christ when the angels come and gather us to meet Christ in the air. And, I know that WPM does not believe that the...

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

Okay, but say that then. You came across as if you believed the time of the "tribulation of those days" itself is when the sun would be darkened and the moon would not give its light and so on rather than that immediately occurring or beginning to occur after "the tribulation of those days" is...

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

I don't mind that. Read that again and don't forget it, please. I. Do. Not. Mind. That. Okay? And, the reason I don't mind that is because you at least don't try to say that it has anything to do with a future physical temple where reinstated animal sacrifices would take place and all that...

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

So, in that same vein of not intending to be sarcastic, but rather simply indicating how I see it, I don't believe it's logical to think that literally all nations would literally, physically gather against the earthly city of Jerusalem. Since I see that you are saying that you are speculating...

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

But, the sun being darkened and moon not giving its light and such are said to be things that occur "AFTER the tribulation of those days" is over, not DURING the tribulation of those days, as you seem to be saying.

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

Yes, this is true. So, "this generation" really means "this same generation that I was just describing", and that can refer to a past, present or future generation, depending on the context.

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

Agree. He's trying to claim that "this generation" lasts for 3.5 years. That would be the shortest generation in the history of the world. No, it's not reasonable at all to claim that a generation can last only 3.5 years.

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

Since you edited this since the last time I replied to it, I figured I would reply again just to say that my previous view was similar to what @marks is saying and at least that view has "this generation" as being the generation that sees the things that would indicate that the kingdom of God...

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

A local location for a final global event? I'm sorry, but that doesn't register with me. Can you try to word that in a way that is more straightforward and specific? I'm not sure what you were intending to say here. What does this mean? I'm an Amill, so I don't understand why you would try to...

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

Yeah. I think the main thing is that we understand that it's talking about "all these things" that occur just before the return of Christ which I already believed. But, I have a serious problem with the way preterists interpret the passage, obviously, because they try to claim that Jesus...

The Rapture and the Tribulation - Short

I agree except for one minor thing that doesn't really matter. I believe in Mark 13:27 that Jesus is referring both to the souls of the dead (asleep) in Christ and to His saints that are still alive on the day of His coming because He refers both to the elect being gathered "from the uttermost...

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

I fully agree. That's why I always saw those passages as being fulfilled at Christ's second coming at the end of the age, but I thought "this" (houtos) "generation" (genea) referred to "this race" (the Jewish race or the human race that existed at the time and would still exist at His second...

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

He can't have been including the verses about wars, rumors of wars, famines, pestilences and earthquakes among "all these things" that would indicate His return was near because He specifically indicated that those things occurring would NOT mean the end was near and were only "the beginning of...

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

I agree. The more I think about this, the more sense it makes to me that Jesus was saying, in effect, that "the same generation that I just talked about, which would see "all these things" that would indicate that My return is near, will not pass until all these things are fulfilled".

When did the 2nd temple literally initially cease being the holy place?

I guess he did mention that, but I don't really understand that, so I'd like a more detailed explanation. It's a bit hard for me to believe that Jesus could have jumped ahead at least 2,000 years from verse 29 to 30. Of course, at the time, even Jesus didn't know the day or hour of His coming...

The Rapture and the Tribulation - Short

So, can we declare Premillennialism to be a false doctrine solely because of the fact that Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons and Christadelphians are Premills? Is this the way we are supposed to determine truth?
  18. Spiritual Israelite

Premillennialism contradicts scripture (1 Corinthians 15:50-54) by having mortal flesh and blood inheriting the kingdom of God when Jesus returns.

That is not what this thread is about. This thread is about inheriting BODILY immortality in the kingdom of God when Jesus returns, not about spiritual salvation that we experience in this lifetime. Is it too much to ask you to stay on topic?

Premillennialism contradicts scripture (1 Corinthians 15:50-54) by having mortal flesh and blood inheriting the kingdom of God when Jesus returns.

How ironic for you to make that statement while misspelling "you're". Thank you for letting us know right off the bat that you are not someone to be taken seriously. Who are you talking to here exactly? Do you even know what this thread is about? Did you read the original post? Do you have any...

Premillennialism contradicts scripture (1 Corinthians 15:50-54) by having mortal flesh and blood inheriting the kingdom of God when Jesus returns.

The wheat do not have immortal bodies until the end of the age arrives. You are not comparing like things here. So, please stop derailing this thread. This is about when Jesus returns and believers are changed to put on bodily immortality in the kingdom of God. Many Premils see Matthew 25:34 as...
