Things to be thankful for: What are your favorite parts of fall?

Anyway, it's pumpkin season now... :) Pumpkin carving has become quite a big thing also:

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Mantis What you say about confidence is true. Seems sometimes that an experienced tattooee and am increasingly well practised artist will enhance each others' confidence, as the ink is steadily rammed in. I do think that among the best applications of tattoo artist skill is in calligraphy...

Things to be thankful for: What are your favorite parts of fall?

@Rita Some of those brands weren't there in Britain decades back...

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Rita Oh yes indeed, this is true, quite apart from the now extremely widespread getting inked up.

Things to be thankful for: What are your favorite parts of fall?

All it seems to need is for Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater to loom in the distance... :)

Things to be thankful for: What are your favorite parts of fall?

@Rita What I remember from Britain is the coffee bars early in the morning which did a roaring trade with commuters who arrived at railway stations and drank coffee and croissants - delicious - before heading to their places of work....

@FluffyYellowDuck Never heard that.... The flavor is big with Tim Horton's coffee shops....

    Your favorite Psalm?

Hi @VictoryinJesus Thanks for your comments. Psalm 107 also has the section, 'They that go down to the sea in ships....' It has a moving ending: 'So He bringeth them to their desired haven'. This reminds me of the believer's heavenly harbour. As in view in the Lord's Supper, 'till He come' (1...

    I need your prayers...

@devin553344 Remember the continuing intercession at the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 7.25).

Fully vaxxed Colin Powell dies from COVID

Sad. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_Powell I'm not American, but I remember that he didn't run for President in '96 because he said he didn't have the 'fire in his belly' for the campaign. May Mrs. Alma Powell find the grace to be comforted by the Scriptures.

@Mantis Yes, I guess in some ways it's a bit like splitting diamonds. The intense concentration. As you do some strokes pumping ink into the skin, you know that you basically have one shot, right? Time is money, and the work and effort taken to be in the position to have experience pumping...

What's the weather like where you are?

@Rita At least you guys over there now don't have the smog pea soupers that used to kill a lot of ppl with respiratory problems, years ago....

Don't know what to call this thread.

@Pearl It can be really good to do daily readings/devotions following a plan by which our hearts can engage consecutively with passages of Scripture, Old and New Testaments...

The Arrogance of Women Who Wear Earrings.

@Pearl I do think that if an adolescent young woman does want to put some simple rings in her ears it would be a bit mean for parents to stop her. (Or young man, for that matter.)

    365 PROMISES

@Pearl I do indeed love the Ephesians 6 Armour of God passage, showing that's it all first and foremost spiritual...

    Monasticism

@Pearl Indeed it's good to remember that just because a person puts on religious garb outwardly, the heart inwardly has not changed; this is of course why the new birth of John 3 is so vital.

Poll: Tattoo art - Christian perspectives: Fight it? Ignore it? appreciate/embrace it?

@Rita PS: What you said on the other thread kind of applies here also, I guess (and you might not have anything to add here, either....) but like you said, "now that I have seen the other side", there are indeed various sides and even if some ppl really don't like tattoo artwork, the fact is...

Things to be thankful for: What are your favorite parts of fall?

@marks Well.....good to look at, perhaps, though not always to feel, especially for some of us a we get older... :)

Things to be thankful for: What are your favorite parts of fall?

@Rita Well, I don't really know about the recipes...my wife would know better...but for centuries the whole "New England fall" thing has been big over here and this does include pumpkins.... (In the Richard Nixon/ Alger Hiss thing, decades back, it was the hiding of papers in a hollowed out...
