Is it right for a Christian to hold a Bible in one hand and a doobie in the other?

We can't serve two masters. Any addiction is a master. Politics is a master. Religion is a master. Christ must come first, and last, in everything.

    Name that Tone

God is love. Jesus was...is... The express image of the Father... The image of love. Nothing Jesus said, or did, was not an expression of that undying passionate selfless love. There could not have been frustration or impatience... That would have been selfish. The tone I see is a pleading...

Is it right for a Christian to hold a Bible in one hand and a doobie in the other?

Many older folk, even though we have experienced much in life, have been slow cooked over time to the point we are less sensitive to the issues of the age. And we simply ignore what we know will trap us. Like tik tok and Instagram etc etc. And the news we take with a grain of salt knowing much...

Is it right for a Christian to hold a Bible in one hand and a doobie in the other?

I'm glad you're having a good day. Except I wasn't trying to be funny. I meant what I said.

Something about the 70s strain? Or maybe that's a common side effect no-one wants to admit?

    Our constitutional right to protest

Our histories are inexorably linked. NZ was administered from Sydney in the early days. But the way history progressed and played out were very different, particularly in relation to the indigenous. And also in the way Christianity was embraced so much by Maori. But the political results and the...

Why Does God Allow The False Pre-trib Rapture Lie?

Could be I understand far more than you. You are not infallible, although you speak like you are. You'd make a great pope. Well, good luck with that. You are welcome to remain on earth if that is your wish. After the last plagues you realise the earth and everything on it will be toast right...

Is it right for a Christian to hold a Bible in one hand and a doobie in the other?

In many cases yes. But for me, no. I had a great life. I was single, had no debts, an awesome car to get to my regular surf spots some of which were the best in NZ. I had a good job with great money and no mental issues. I was smoking because I could. To try and make a good life even better. It...

Is it right for a Christian to hold a Bible in one hand and a doobie in the other?

I found it to be a religious issue. I was converted, meeting Jesus for the first time at age 24. After years of smoking, growing, and dealing, I found that the weed wasn't making me happy and more, in fact I didn't like the state of mind I was getting into and was one the verge of looking for...

Why Does God Allow The False Pre-trib Rapture Lie?

After reading Davy's posts, I now understand all there is to know regarding the concept of pontificating.

Why Does God Allow The False Pre-trib Rapture Lie?

There's a fourth not generally considered by any because of its source, but it's more biblical, has less holes, makes more sense, and offers a much happier end for all involved. My advice would be to disregard all those three and go back to the Bible.

Why Does God Allow The False Pre-trib Rapture Lie?

Just to throw in another perspective... Jude could be speaking of angels. After all, it is the angels who gather the elect from the four corners of the earth yes? So it is entirely reasonable to think Jesus comes from heaven with His angels for the greatest event in human history. Second, there...

    Our constitutional right to protest

Speaking of constitutional rights, what do you make of this little tidbit of unknown and relatively obscure information... "On 28 October 1835, at the home of British Resident James Busby in Waitangi, 34 northern chiefs signed He Whakaputanga o te Rangatiratanga o Nu Tireni (known in English as...

Pope Francis assures atheists: You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven

So Francis isn't consistently Catholic? And you're upset because I believe he is? And I'm lying about the Catholic teaching that one must be good to be saved? You're saying one doesn't have to be good to be saved? Can you please explain then what the Catholic teaching is then for justification...

Pope Francis assures atheists: You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven

I'm lying in stating Francis is being consistently Catholic? Or... I'm lying about the Catholic teaching that one must be good in order to be saved?

Pope Francis assures atheists: You don’t have to believe in God to go to heaven

Being a good person has nothing to do with being saved. However, I have no issue with Francis saying good people go to heaven. That is Catholic teaching. Francis is being a good Catholic. It isn't Christian or biblical teaching, but it's Catholic and Francis is being consistently Catholic. But...
