If Baptism could save then there is no need for the shed Blood of Jesus.

I grew up in the Roman Catholic church and also spent some time in the church of Christ several years ago prior to my conversion (and both of those churches heavily emphasis salvation by water baptism) so my beliefs stem from my conversion experience and diligent study, so I would not call that...

If Baptism could save then there is no need for the shed Blood of Jesus.

You are entitled to your biased opinion to suit your biased agenda. It's one thing to be narrow minded and another thing to be biased. It will be few who find eternal life because there are few who genuinely believe in/have faith in/trust in Jesus Christ as the All-sufficient means of their...

I've heard of the joint declaration on the Doctrine of Justification. I'm not a fan of ecumenism. Coming together over irreconcilable differences makes any joint mission impossible, unless there is compromise.

I think of it as Preservation of the Saints. Psalm 37:28 - For the Lord loves justice, And does not forsake His saints; They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked shall be cut off. Perseverance is proof of genuine conversion. This is a gross misrepresentation of OSAS and a...

Regardless of your biased opinion, I have properly harmonized scripture with scripture and rightly divided the word of truth before reaching my conclusion on doctrine. You just don't have eyes to see or ears to hear.

No it doesn't. Be sure to read the article I sent you on Acts 22:16 from post #244. As Greek scholar AT Robertson points out - "Baptism here pictures the washing away of sins by the blood of Christ." The language in Acts 22:16 is similar to the statement of Christ when He took the bread and...

If Baptism could save then there is no need for the shed Blood of Jesus.

The Greek is saved "through" (di) water. (NKJV, NASB, NIV). The ESV reads ..eight persons, were brought safely through water. Noah and his family saved "through" water does not mean that the water is what literally saved them, rather, the ARK is what literally saved them from the destructive...

I have plenty of ground to stand as I have cited numerous passages of scripture (and properly harmonized scripture with scripture before reaching my conclusion on doctrine) in order to support my arguments, so spare me your psychological games and as for ad hominem, if the shoe fits, wear it.

Yes, baptism is a work and salvation is not accomplished through it. Salvation is signified, but not procured through water baptism. In 1 Peter 3:21, Peter tells us that baptism now saves you, yet when Peter uses this phrase he continues in the same sentence to explain exactly what he means by...

If Baptism could save then there is no need for the shed Blood of Jesus.

I have engaged you in the past, but unfortunately, I quickly learned that you just don't have ears to hear. Of course I care about people whom I believe have gone astray, but like they say, you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. So my statement is merely persecution for...

According to you, but I have read many of your posts and you have some erroneous beliefs. You really need to reconsider some of your beliefs.

Baptism certainly is a work. So how is it not a work to you? See Matthew 3:15. When Jesus was water baptized, He said it was fitting to fulfill all righteousness. Water baptism is a work of righteousness and we are not saved by works of righteousness which we have done. (Titus 3:5) The remission...

    Not faith alone?

False. Romans 5:1 - Therefore, having been justified by faith, (faith and baptism? NO simply faith) we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith (and baptism? NO) into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

    Not faith alone?

It is by grace (not grace + merit) that we are saved through faith in Christ alone (not faith + works). It's not hard to understand. You seem to be obsessed with water baptism. Do you attend the church of Christ? That would explain a lot. Mark 16:16 - He who believes and is baptized will be...

Baptism is a work and we are saved through faith, not works.

See the (ESV, NKJV, NASB, NIV) They all say “have been” saved through faith. The Amplified Bible reads - For it is by grace [God’s remarkable compassion and favor drawing you to Christ] that you have been saved [actually delivered from judgment and given eternal life] through faith. And this...

    Not faith alone?

God draws us and enables us, (John 6:44,65) but we must choose to place our faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. 1 Peter 1:9 - receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

You caught nothing. I was harmonizing Acts 2:38 with Acts 3:19, so it wasn't about skipping the middle of Acts 2:38. Now go back and read all of post #154.

Only the seed that fell in the good soil are the ones who having heard the word with a good and virtuous heart, and hold it firmly, and produce fruit with perseverance. (Luke 8:15)
