    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Thank you junobet. No splitting hairs on my part. The Catholic Church has not watered down it's teaching on Justification to 'pretty much agree with Luther' as you suggested. Your suggestion that the Catholic Church pretty much agreed with Luther on this doctrine is completely and utterly...

    The Inquisitions

Hi junobet, According to your understanding: When was the Medieval Inquisition? (what years)

    Co- Redemptrix

Hi Mr. Pardo, Yes, the chicken is my dinner while it is still walking. That is why it was fed, watered and raised to adult life. To be my dinner. No other reason. It has a destination. My plate. Just like the men and women who walked and talked with Christ. They were fed his word, watered with...

    The Inquisitions

Thank you. I thought you were wrong when you made that statement however I researched it and found out you were right. I learned that the name Vatican City was first used in the Lateran Treaty (1929) which established the modern city-state. The name is taken from Vatican Hill, the geographic...

    The Inquisitions

Hi Tabletalk, Is this discussion about the inquisitions conducted by the Catholic Church only or is this discussion open to all the Christian Inquisition's throughout history? Curious Mary

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Hi BG, Thank you. I believe that a lot Christians have "no understanding of what it (baptism) all really was signifying". I believe scripture makes it pretty clear that baptism is a remission of sin and it also conveys the Holy Spirit upon us. (Acts2:38, Acts 22:16, Acts 19:1-6, Matthew 3:16)...

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Hi, Oh goodness. Your response confused me more. I apologize. What do we have to be ready for before we are baptized? Mary

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Hi Stranger, I have a question based on your opinion. If Timothy was to commit to faithful men that which he was taught, then what are those faithful men to do? Commit to OTHER faithful men that which they were taught by Timothy? (rhetorical question) Paul + Timothy + men Timothy taught + men...

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Hi Grams, It sounds like either your parents failed you or you didn't pay attention when attending The Catholic Church. The Catholic Church has been reading from scripture at every mass for a long time: On the day called Sunday there is a gathering together in the same place of all who live in...

    Baptism question that seems unbiblical

Shame on you. Not true. The declaration said that there were still differences between the Catholic and Lutheran articulation of the doctrine of justification. The declaration does not cover all that either church teaches about justification but it does encompass a consensus on basic truths of...

    Co- Redemptrix

Thank you. I am still a bit confused. I may not be articulating my position clearly. I will try again. I understand that John the Baptist and those that were killed or died BEFORE the resurrection couldn't have been part of The Church. However, I think it is safe to presume the 72 mentioned in...

    Do you do this?

Dear mjrhealth, If you answered me about you takeing communion....I don't see the answer. I suspect you don't. :( I hope you do take communion because He did tell us to spend our days doing stuff....which is opposite of your statement: And whoever gives one of these little ones even a cup of...

    Do you do this?

Sooooo is that a YES I feel comfortable not doing what He told me to do OR Is that a NO, I don't feel comfortable not doing what He told me to do? Curious Mary

    Do you do this?

Thank you. Do you feel comfortable not doing what He told you (us) to do? Curious Mary

    Do you do this?

Thank you for the clarification. I find it fascinating that scripture indicates that Paul taught Peter something but Peter didn't teach Paul anything. Peter, the man who knew Jesus and walked and talked with him was unable to teach Paul a man who only knew Jesus thru revelation(s). Mary

    Do you do this?

Thank you. Seems we are a bit off track from the OP and the subject of the thread. Do you participate in communion?? (the subject of this thread) Curious Mary

    Do you do this?

Thank you. I agree....Two great men. Where does Scripture say that Peter finally 'got it' through the Spirit?? I'm not disagreeing with you...I just don't recall reading that. PS....I wasn't sure what @Angelina answer was. I guess you understood it better than I. :( Mary

    Do you do this?

Thank you mrhealth BTW.....Matthew 16:17 is about Peter, not Paul. The one (singular) revelation that Peter received was that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God. It has nothing to do with the revelations (plural) that Paul received. I get your point though....Thank you...

    Do you do this?

Thank you. I forgot about that dream. Is that the answer to my question?: Do you think Paul taught Peter anything when he opposed him to his face? If it is the answer.....I don't understand it. :( Mary

    Born Again ?

Hi and Thank you. I don't disagree with you. I guess we just have to figure out who the "true believers" are???? ;) Who do you think they are? Only those that are born again? Thinking back to the time I wrote that I am not sure why I underlined the word water. I think I wanted to emphasize...
