I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

I would say your debate is with the character of God.....is he contradictory as you are saying; one day he behaves like this and another day he behaves like that....or is he consistent always.....the same yesterday, today and tomorrow?

Yes, you are saying we cannot....I am saying we do both

I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

God has never been a pacifist.....the incarnation is evidence of that ...and yes, Armageddon will not be powder puff football with humanity blaming and slaying each other and themselves.

I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

When we reject Gods judgement on our behalf we are judging God as not worthy of our worship. When we pray, hallowed is thy name, we justify God by saying he is worthy of our worship.

Does The Bible Speak Against Nudity?

I suppose if you consider the only two people on the planet 'public' you could perhaps make a case......but no, their nakedness was not lack of clothing, it was a very rapid plummet of their self image resulting in each blaming the other and God. This 'nakedness' has been passed on to all their...

I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

The crucifixion was where the powers of good and evil met their climax and each displayed their character to the full. The question, do we have a God who is consistent, one that does not change or do we have a God who is a carbon copy of all the Gods men have created.....one who is fickle and...

I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

@Grailhunter.....I understand the position I have put forward creates lots of questions in the light of the various texts you have quoted in post #102 A short answer would be there are other ways of understanding these texts.......ways that do not make God contradictory.

I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

I would add as an aside, Gandhi didn't learn the non violent approach from the Hinduism he grew up with even though he identified as a Hindu....he learn't it from Jesus.....and changed that nations history

I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

Don't be in such a hurry to justify a violent God Grailhunter. The way Jesus disarms principalities and powers is by a method unfamiliar and unknown to men....he submits and absorbs the violence....he doesn't perpetrate it or respond with violence. Jesus speaking says 'you have heard it said an...

I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

Even the prophets could not see past a God of violence but Jesus who was the ultimate revelation of God revealed otherwise.

I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

The testimony of God himself on the mount of transfiguration was, 'this is my son, listen to him'. All other representations of God in past accounts were flawed ie, misrepresented but Jesus as the book of Hebrews states is the express image of his person. Here we see a God who would rather die...

Kamala Harris Is The Ultimate Dishonor

your demonising and badmouthing speaks more of yourselves than those you hope to demonise or badmouth!

I'm Pretty Sure That Jesus Wasn't Talking About This

We have a non violent God...Jesus demonstrated this. When he said turn the other cheek, he meant exactly that. So let me ask, why don't you think he meant what he said?

The complete paganism of the Tri-quetra (triquetra), and it's anti-Christian purpose

Personally, I am thankful that I have access to Christianityboard in spite of frustrations experienced. Wherever I go there is much horse sh.t peddled as gourmet meals however, opportunities to share how I see on this forum have as yet not been curtailed and for that I am grateful.

Knowing via eating fruit constitutes the basis of Judaism/Christianity.

I hear what you are saying yet even with the rational you employ there is so much that you cannot account for .....like your heartbeats source, what constitutes electricity or flame and so on. The awareness that Jesus rose from the dead; the event including the ability to see its reality is not...

I suppose rising from the dead is also viewed in the same light?
