    Vaping problems? / benefits?

PS: As a alternative even to vaping, some ppl burn joss sticks. (Not that I would necessarily advocate it, either.)

    Thinking about the Sabbath

@FluffyYellowDuck I wouldn't 'recommend' it either, in a sense, but there has been so much politics and pharmaceutical big business ripping off from expensive meds that I don't 'moralize' against marijuana either, especially if it's legalized. For the believer, it's best to move on with a clear...

    Vaping problems? / benefits?

@FluffyYellowDuck Yes, the advantage of vaping for those trying to quit is that you can cut down on nicotine levels. Sometimes cold turkey works, period; sometimes by lessening the nicotine content progressively while you get your inhales via vaping can work for some ppl also, right?

PS: @FluffyYellowDuck It's been legalized in a lot of states since, not that I recommend it...

    Vaping problems? / benefits?

@FluffyYellowDuck If you managed to quit cigarettes and marijuana cold turkey without going via the vaping route, then more power to you! :) (Like you said, vaping can work for some ppl...)

    oops

Okay.... :) But what I meant was the spelling backwards: puns are hard to translate... :)

    oops

I like that from WaterSong that "Stressed spelled backwards is Desserts!"...... :) (Doesn't work, though, translated en francais...)

    Thinking about the Sabbath

@FluffyYellowDuck God bless your family and your Bible studies! :) (I did start a quit smoking thread, but not from a 'moralizing' perspective...)

    Thinking about the Sabbath

@FluffyYellowDuck Oh I love Bunyan, the way he writes! Do you remember the passage from 'The Holy War' about the bliss of sins forgiven? :) "Moreover, the Prince stripped the prisoners of their mourning weeds, and gave them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, and the garment of...

Who are the elect? Not the pious IMO

PS: @FluffyYellowDuck I tend to do a lot of reading before going to sleep, but it's a moot point whether the reason for switching off the light is because of sleepiness or because the eyes can't stand any more. (Life does change in such ways, in ways one would not have imagined years ago...)

    Thinking about the Sabbath

PS: @amadeus The theme of fellowship in John's First Epistle comes to mind, both Godward and among the likeminded.

    Thinking about the Sabbath

Just goes to show how deeply important is Godly fellowship in the home, in tune with heaven... :)

    Thinking about the Sabbath

@FluffyYellowDuck What you said about the Scriptures kind of also reminds me of what Anne Steele wrote: "O may these hallowed pages be My ever dear delight! And still new beauties may I see, And still increasing light!"

    Thinking about the Sabbath

    Good sentiment, @amadeus Blessings.

    Thinking about the Sabbath

@FluffyYellowDuck Good to search the Scriptures thoroughly and see what Godly minds in the past have said also.

    Thinking about the Sabbath

@FluffyYellowDuck I think 1 Corinthians 15.20 is a great verse: "But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept." No longer are the types and shadows to be observed and enforced; but the Lord has indeed been crucified and is indeed risen! :)

    Learning Knowledge - Getting Understanding

Ty. Sometimes we maybe don't understand the sheer weight of the mindset that ppl raised on OT thinking might bring with them, even when professing the Gospel.
