    Let's Discuss our Adversary.

Sad and shocking reply to @quietthinker’s post. Must have been building for some time as she threw 3 groups out with the bath water.

In another thread, I provided evidence that Americans are Christian. Another poster is opposed to such categorization. Regarding what I celebrate not being instituted by Jesus, my dear, that is not a standard I am holding myself to. Where is such a sentiment in Scripture?

I repeatedly asked Aunty Jane 2 questions she refuses to answer. What verse in Scripture prohibits celebrating birthdays? What year is it? She can't answer my questions by asking her own.

America Is Not A Christian Nation?

You are repeating yourself. The point of this thread is to delve into what you consider inappropriate.

And again, where is celebrating a new year PROHIBITED in Scripture? No where. Your making stuff up.

Yes, it is a non-religious tradition of men. Do you see any followers in the Bible driving their car on the RHS of the road? That's what we do around these parts.

Wrong. A birthday has NOTHING to do with astrology or divination. It's a complete invention. This is why when I ask where does the Bible prohibit birthday celebrating, you falsely connect it to astrology and divination. Just because birthday's have an origin in a different culture does not mean...

Celebrating OTHER PEOPLE's birthday's do not promote self.

America Is Not A Christian Nation?

Based on the picture in the OP, just what religious preference would you categorize Americans?

Again, you ask questions but don’t answer. The idea that celebrating birthdays is against God’s word is without foundation. IMO, your refusal to answer the question of what year it is shows you know your argument is week as normally you answer questions at great length.

You mean like SCOTUS overturning RvW?

What is your POV? What Scripture says you are not to celebrate birthdays? And what year is it?

    Was God.....

I think the better argument is not with Adam and Eve but Israel, when Moses talked God out of destroying all Israel, He was so mad with their repeated disobedience. In the alternative, this could be an object lesson that prayers work, that our supplication has the potential to influence how...

America Is Not A Christian Nation?

You must be posting in the wrong thread. This thread is about REAL Americans.

There is nothing wrong with honoring Christ in more than one way. Easter is honoring him closer to the way you’re talking about.

Seriously? More people come to Christ, talk about Jesus, give to charity in his name and go to church than any other time of year. Just last night, I went to a 4King and Country Christmas concert. 10,000 enthralled Christians praying, worshipping for 3 hours donating millions to sponsor...

    EXACTLY like celebrating birthdays!

Sure it does! The Bible clearly says if you do not do what your conscious is telling, it is a sin. The reverse is also true. This explains why John the Baptist did not drink but Jesus did. Appropriation is from appropriate. Doing what is appropriate is not a sin. The JW rules are stifling. The...

Celebrating, honoring a person is no kind of worship. I don’t know why you cannot understand that.

@Aunty Jane, one more thing. Where in Scripture does it say celebrating birthdays is demonic?
