GOD in the OT and GOD in the NT

Maybe I misunderstood your point but here seems to be a number of fatal flaws in your attempt to rebuke @tigger 2's analysis fitting into 2 categories. Discerning different points made in different parts of Scripture. Recognizing REAL-lowercase gods in Scripture. How do you explain the idea...

Why are there four Gospel accounts in the New Testament?

My thoughts exactly. The question of this thread could be expanded to the whole NT and indeed, the whole Bible; why were the books selected and why put in the non-chronological order that they are in? I believe it would've been fascinating to hear the arguments. Although I have not read the...

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

False Alternative. That Jesus confessed to be exiting before Abraham in no way implies he is necessarily the Creator, his Father.

GOD in the OT and GOD in the NT

That’s funny. Why is it not Jesus but Yeshua?

    Unanswered Question Concerning Jesus' Deity

Don’t you think that ambiguous verses should be subordinated to explicit verses? For instance, a verse that could imply Jesus is God has to be subordinated to an explicit verse that says God is not a man. Hosea 11:9.

    Data On The Trinity

I read the whole thing. Well researched, leaving the idea of the trinity in complete shreds.

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

Not at all. You fail again to grasp agency. There is one God, who has a Spirit. This spirit was given to Jesus at his baptism for one reason; Jesus is not God. Through Jesus, we are gifted God’s spirit. God has chosen to reconcile us to him through his agent, through his servant Jesus. Having...

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

No, not literally. The logos of theos is not theos. Being of God, it is divine but not a deity. The word was God is a figurative expression. The word was a god, with divine authority is literally correct. This refrain will help you keep this straight. Words are WHAT’s not WHO’s.

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

Nope. There is no God the Holy Spirit verse. Rom 8:9-11 is talking about an attribute of God, his spirit, not a different person.

Does John 1:1 say Jesus is God

Not in the Bible one time. In the Bible 37 times is that he is the Son of God. Matthew 15:6 So, for the sake of your tradition, you nullify the word[a] of God.

    The Devil's Ministers

I trust Jesus to keep me saved. It’s my ego I don’t trust, to disregard the MANY verses about salt being thrown out that lost it’s flavor, branches that don’t produce fruit thrown in the fire and Jesus saying he does not even know those who performed miracles in his name. I haven’t read a...

What does Colossians 1:16 mean when it says "For by him were all things created..."

It goes to show how LANGUAGE USAGE is constantly at odds with your dogma.

    Are Jehovah's witnesses real Christians?

The investment Christology has in their idol, cannot allow them to recognize a single argument is weak or their whole house of cards may fall. This is why I started a thread on REAL-lowercase gods in Scripture. Words are WHAT’s not WHO’s. But the Scriptural evidence for their man-is-god idol...

Does God testify of Churches and their truth level?

I think it is not worth your time. With >35K denominations, who among us can take the time to develop a matrix of all their denominations? The message of Scripture is that faith is more important (than such) knowledge. Invest in a Christian community near you. God’s chosen people need your...

Does God testify of Churches and their truth level?

Another non-denom, here. I believe God is working in many if not all churches in different ways to different people. In another thread, an observation was there is only 3 denominations where every congregation in the world hears the same sermon. Most denominations the pastor, being in touch...

Good Friend, Victim of Elderly Abuse

Welcome to CB. I look forward to getting to know you and enjoying passionate discussion. Thank you. He credits me with putting a stop to the nonsense, noting his daughter is much chastened with the little I've done. Oh, what is it that he should have done years ago?

    Unitarianism vs Trinitarianism

Exactly! No where does Scripture say Jesus is God but it does say 37 times that he is the son of god. I’m thinking those that claim he is god don’t want to believe what God says.

    Unitarianism vs Trinitarianism

It’s always easier to do and believe what you are told with critically examining it. Thinking is hard. That’s why most people don’t do it.
