If Jesus did not pay for our sin we would be left dead in our sin with no hope.. So I could repent. and say God I acknowledge I am a sinner and I acknowledge I have no hope. But there would be no justification for me to have because they debt is left unpaid.. Does that make sense?

he is right on a level. The fact we have been given the ability to repent is a gift from God.. based on what Christ did on the cross.. Other than this gift. we could repent all we want. it would not get us anywhere

You keep missing the point Christ did all the work. I do not have to go to work. I have to STOP my work. And recieve Christ's work. If I continue to try to work. I will fail. Because no matter how much work I do. I can never earn salvation.
