Good verse there; but the focus is also on whether the redeemed are the focus of God's purposes (as John 17 says) or whether integrating the world into the church is, supposedly (which goes beyond that Mark 9.50 says in any case).

@Heart2Soul @TLHKAJ @April_Rose It is I guess a broader reminder of the real value that mother - daughter advice about how to put on make up effectively can have, in addition to medical measures to combat skin problems.

Frankly it would be unrealistic to tell people that unless they are baptised they won't go to heaven, while leaving aside the vital inner work of the Holy Spirit through whom Christ offered Himself without spot to God (Hebrews 9.14). An outward symbol may refer to an inner reality; it does not...

It says they would be cleansed. It's not the mere symbol that does it.

Perhaps your area is different. In my area 80 people died of the virus in one building alone.

In other words, it doesn't matter if people who already have heart and lung issues die by COVID infection as long as their deaths are classified as heart attacks and as long as people who don't have symptoms themselves don't practise distancing...

I think in those sorts of establishments people are supposed to keep their distance anyway, rather than be "in your face"...

@Heart2Soul Some ppl cope with some skin issue with medication; others also use make up (maybe second best, but anyway...)
