People are fallible. The inspiration of the apostles was not. heaven and hell are real, not symbolic or mythical parables. And this described the holding places before the resurrection of Jesus.

According to the "rich man and Lazarus" story, Lazarus was in Paradise with water. The rich man wanted a little water from Lazarus, so Abraham's Bosom or Paradise is not a "prison" by any stretch of the imagination.

It only says that when Jesus was resurrected, many saw the Old Testament saints walking around Jerusalem. That is in the gospels. I assume they went to heaven. Why would Jesus put them back after being resurrected?
