    Faith Alone is Dead

Amen to that sister Also shows we have to keep our eyes open. So easy to interpret the word to fit us and not fit us to the word.

Wow, I'm the ONLY member logged in ....

I saw the same thing, I was a member of another christian site, Wasin the middle of a deep discussion with a few people. I guess that site got hacked, and the damage was irreparable. They never reopened the site, which was sad. I feared that happened to this site.

    Faith Alone is Dead

Its funny how Jesus is making legalism here (the pharisees and those who think they must or can earn salvation by their deeds or how good they are. Yet they try to use this verse to counter true grace believers who trust solely in Christ and his work to save them.

It might be where we are in the world. It went down Sunday morning (eastern standard time US) for me.

    Baptist board?
  7. Eternally Grateful

    Faith Alone is Dead

What does that have to do with the question at hand. Did Jesus said he NEVER KNEW THEM or not? You trying to change the subject so you can sidestep the discussion and try to turn it to something else is not going to help If we say we have no sin we deceived ourselves. Am I sinless? No. I am...

    I had wondered that myself..lol

    Justification By Works

You still do not get it He said they HAD NO WORKS. He did not say they had some. He said they CLAIMED TO HAVE FAITH. He never said they had faith And he asked the question. CAN THAT FAITH SAVE YOU. Secondly, He was not talking to the church. The church was not the problem. It was...

    Faith Alone is Dead

Good neither do I Why are you asking me this for? Have I ever said I practice sin or even hinted at the fact I might. I think your trying to sidestep the issue of what Jesus said about those who practice sin, and about what John said about them.
  11. Eternally Grateful

    Faith Alone is Dead

That is not what he said, He said I NEVER KNEW YOU. Please do not take the words of CHrist and turn them into something else. So you practice sin? I have you all wrong. You claim to know God but practice sin? As for me, I just told you what John said, Whoever practices sin, or continues in...

I think for many of us it was down sunday. I could not log in at any time on Sunday. I had a page open from Sat night, and Sunday morning I tried to refresh it and nothing.. You must have been special that sunday..lol

    Faith Alone is Dead

lol NEVER KNEW you and FORGOT YOU are two different things. Jesus did not say I forgot your name. or I no longer remember you He said HE NEVER KNEW YOU He also said they practiced sin. The only person who practices sin is someone who has NEVER KNOWN GOD (1 John 3: 6)

    The salvation journey.

we can stop right here. Because this just shows your lack of understanding There are MANY baptisms. There is only one baptism applicable to salvation.

    Justification By Works

Our discussion, unless I have misread, Is that James was not talking to people concerning salvation. Which I disagree with I agree, he was not telling them the gospel. They already knew the gospel. His point was to make sure they had true living faith in the gospel. and not mere belief in that...
  16. Eternally Grateful

    Faith Alone is Dead

Amen, He said he NEVER KNEW THEM. That should speak loudly. Sadly I fear hearts are hard, and seeing they can not see and hearing they can not hear
  17. Eternally Grateful

    Justification By Works

Yet jesus ver and over spoke of how salvation/eternal life/new birth is based on faith in the one whome God sent, and never about works. And once again, HE SAID WHAT I SAID HE SAID. Your ignoring him, not me. Why don’t you try that. Its rude to tell people to read it in a way that will get...

Genesis 1, a day, and Billions of years

Hebrew writing is simple Vs 1 is a general statment Vs 2 is the origional state of creation The rest is a detailed version of events of how God created the heavens and the earth in 6 days. Each time it goes back to the begining, more detail is given.
  19. Eternally Grateful

    Faith Alone is Dead

Amen There is no such thing as faith void of works. We work BECAUSE we have faith You do not say you trust (have faith) in someone, yet never do anything they say or ask or do. Thats not a real faith that is a claimed faith. You may believe a man can walk you across a tightrope over the...
  20. Eternally Grateful

    Faith Alone is Dead

Sadly, through the pride of men, They are incapable of removing their good deeds, their hard work. Their sacrifices from the equation. Its why the religious jews could not see their messiah, Its why the pharisees had Christ crucified Its why Religious works plus faith is the most popular...
