OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

so when Jesus said to Peter, whoever you forgive will be forgiven and whoever you do not forgive they will not be forgiven. What did he have in mind there? And who's sins were forgiven....the whole world or just a select group?

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

I have tried for the life of me to understand your answer as if I was missing something. My conclusion is that you are doing nothing more than sidestepping and avoiding while attempting to appear pious.

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

I might ask, what was it that was finished at the cross? It's possible to apply that statement to any number of conclusions. I know it definitely doesn't mean cleaning ones teeth or the need to stop at red traffic lights!

What does/should John 13:35 look like to you?

Say what you mean and mean what you say. That principle practised will make you stand out like a pimple on a ducks tail.

Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed?

...and when he comes he will testify of me... Jesus. In other words, he won't testify to himself. The role of the Spirit is to glorify Jesus and those imbued with his Spirit are identified by this. The Spirit never draws attention to himself. Don't you find that interesting?

OSAS is the result of the finished work of the cross

Salvation is something you have by faith. If your faith fails, ie if you do not complete the race, will you still have assurance of salvation....will you still have salvation?

    Paul And The Law

Inconvenience is a big thing. Not wanting to understand is probably closer to the mark. Inconvenience puts people at a decided disadvantage when it comes to dealing with men/carnal nature....isn't it the thing so many products are based around? Why keep a law or laws that put a spanner in the works?

    Paul And The Law

probably only eight.....not coveting is not even on the horizon of the average 'christian' .... Ahhhhhhhhh, perhaps only seven...other Gods, hmmmm. Come to think of it, it might only be six...bearing false witness, hmmmm...theres a considerable amount of that in the backyard, ahhhggghhh, did you...

....many will say to me 'Lord, Lord'...

You might like to check John 8 particularly verses 30-59 It opens with, in verse 31 'to the jews who believed on him' and finishes with verse 59 'at this they picked up stones to stone him' Surprise, surprise.....Jesus addresses these same Jews who believed on him....yes, they thought he had...

    The burden of miracles

I have wondered about this. I think that in Jesus case there was some resonant cord in those whores/publicans which they responded to. Without that resonant cord its as much a dogs breakfast as in a recalcitrant church.

    The burden of miracles

Yeah Frank, I know what its like to get the cold shoulder, to be asked to leave, even forced. It's hurtful to say the least. These days I keep to myself mostly. I do miss genuine fellowship but can't seem to find those that are not into 'the scene' I often wonder how Jesus did it growing up...

What do you do when people don't want to hear the truth

Jesus let him go. He didn't try to persuade him against his choice.

Be strong David....remember John 10 1 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber. 2 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the porter openeth; and the...

What do you do when people don't want to hear the truth

When the rich young ruler didn't want to hear what Jesus told him, how did Jesus respond?
