The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I acknowledged that I knew another word, a synonym, for the word that you used. There was no need for me to say the synonym you had in mind. Your meaning was clear without it. *** Readers, this isn’t the first time that he has called me dishonest. You may not know that but he does. One...

Then spend your time wisely. Don’t read or post to me. His loss. I can help him with or without you.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

You read a lot of what I say and don’t want to hear any of it. I “tossed you a bone.“ By not reading what I went on to say, you missed an opportunity to help @Riven.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

You have a limited vocabulary, and your meaning was clear from the start. Is Peter the first Pope? *** @Riven do you think Peter is the first Pope? @RLT63 do you?

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

So what‘s the problem? The merging of the role of the government with the role of the church, which occurred in the 4th century; the church-state. The Pope running the show. (Up until the Protestant Reformation.) That’s not at all what Paul had in mind.

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Like in the days of Nero. God used Nero as a tool to punish the disobedient. God uses the non-follower of Jesus, not the follower of Jesus, to punish the disobedient. Need a sword (a weapon of the world) to do that. God uses the follower of Jesus, not the non-follower of Jesus, to evangelize...

Did God ordain Nebuchadnezzar? AI Overview - “Yes, according to the Hebrew Bible, God explicitly ordained King Nebuchadnezzar II of Babylon, granting him dominion and even referring to the pagan monarch as ‘my servant’ to carry out divine judgment against Judah. Biblical Basis for...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

It’s better for a Christian to die than to disobey the Messiah.

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

Thank you, Father. Paul tells the followers of Jesus in Romans 13:1-4 who it is that God uses to maintain order in the nations of the world. It isn’t the followers of Jesus. How do we know that is true?

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

Let’s go back to Romans 13:1-4. When was it written? By whom was it written? To whom was it written? Who is the head of the government? God uses that person to maintain order.

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

I’m heading off to bed @Riven. I’ll leave you tonight with this: God’s thoughts and ways aren’t mankind’s thoughts and ways. Have a reverential fear of God.

    Crusades Began with Reconquista

That’s right. Yes. That’s false. Listen to the Christian preachers whom I’ve quoted. @Wrangler has said that two of them (C.H. Spurgeon and C.S. Lewis) are his favorite Christian authors. They are giants in the Protestant tradition. (Neither of them are unitarian; Wrangler is. You don’t...

The good man that turned bad out of necessity

Christians do. Man isn’t better than God. God is better than man. @marks touched on this in post #210 and post #213. He’s not just all loving. In rejecting Jesus, the Jews also rejected God. They have a track record of rejecting God; and God has a track record of punishing them, even...
