    Fear God or Presume acceptance

We don't know what we'll do until the trials arrive to test us.

@marks Just one thing. The Sermon on the Mount was declaring the commandments of Jesus, as redefined to the heart issue from His Father's surface flesh commandments. John 15:10 - see the difference?

@marks Be back later, brother. Much love to you too!

No, Jesus was teaching HIS WORDS to HIS disciples. That is us too. Jesus did not teach keeping the law to anyone other than His debates with Pharisees. I know you don't believe this, but the Sermon on the Mount was His laws that would be written on the heart, the core of the issues - the New...

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

Who does the yielding? We do. But what if during a time of testing that we all go through to grow, we don't yield ourselves to God, but get discouraged as Paul began to get with his thorn (false teachers he had to contend with against what he was preaching). Paul overcame it, and thus, was able...

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

My answer is what we seem to disagree about. I want to know if we do agree, or don't. I believe Matthew 6:14-15 which you seem to think no longer applies to us, if I'm not mistaken, because you don't agree as I do that both verses apply to us (from posts awhile back).

Yes, but we must be obedient to that chastening and forgive if that is what is needed. Hebrews 12: 14 Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: 15 looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up...

Philippians 2: 12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure. 14 Do all things without...

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

After you've been forgiven and go along walking in the Spirit. You've been justified; you've been sanctified; but then you DO take offense at something someone said and you hold a grudge. You don't forgive them. What then?

I agree, but you weren't clear that you were not talking ever - before or after.

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

You know who you hate. How many times do you have to murder people to realize you are a murderer?

    There is no conflict.

I thought that is what he meant too. But he just wasn't very clear. He meant in order to come to Christ and be cleansed, not after. He agrees the children of God are obedient. @marks

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

No apostle taught that Children of God "all sin." "Jesus was manifest to take away our sin, and in Him is no sin." Don't forget the parable of the wheat and tares. Jesus said to let them grow together lest you pull out the wheat with the tares. So when Paul admonishes a congregation he is...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

Ever since Adam sinned, every person born thereafter was born with a carnal nature bent toward sin and selfishness. That is all that is meant by all sin and fall short of the glory of God. It is a teaching between how we were under to law of Moses in the Old Covenant, and the freedom from sin...

The myth of grace-only & easy-believism shattered forever

For me in my marriage to an abusive man, and I saw a kind man loving his wife, God taught me to shake my head real fast back and forth, rattling my brains, and not look back. The image was gone. When I did what He said, I never had to dwell on it. Temptations come our way, but it is the dwelling...

One doesn't supersede the other, mark. Jesus gives us the reason we should want to, because He forgave us, but the warning is not null and void. Do you believe it is?

    Fear God or Presume acceptance

Forgiving others is a must after we are born again.

    Then say that.

That is the opposite of Matthew 6:14-15
