Jesus didn't take away our sin, only our punishment

Wasn't that you that disagreed with the title of this post in #2? If Jesus has taken away our sin, why would you still be sinning? Or do you actually believe just (not also) our punishment is taken away?

Jesus didn't take away our sin, only our punishment

No, you are referring to 1 John 1:8, similar but not the same. Are you sinless? Or are you a slave to sin?

Jesus didn't take away our sin, only our punishment

1 John 1:10 is someone who claims they were BORN sinless. I never have, and you shouldn't lie about me like that.

Jesus didn't take away our sin, only our punishment

He hasn't responded. But how many call someone a liar if they claim sinlessness, including you? They certainly don't believe that Jesus takes away sin, but they believe they are going to heaven anyway.

Jesus didn't take away our sin, only our punishment

Did you notice that the first post was NOTHING BUT SCRIPTURE? Again, not in the right spirit. :( It was from the father of lies.

Jesus didn't take away our sin, only our punishment

Yes, we are not robots, but our new nature hates what his old nature loved. Therefore, to be saved, we must stay walking in the Spirit, for thereby we are partaking of the divine nature of God. Those who return to the old nature and stay there will not inherit the Kingdom of God. The finish line...

You aren't going to pull me in either.

Very astute of you, charity! Yes, the title is sarcasm. But it is quoted to me time and time again on the forums. But Peter calls that doctrine, false. Thus the nullifying scripture.

    God says . . .

To humble ourselves is to become meek. The nature of a wild horse is to do its own thing and is worthless. But once broken and meek, it can become a valuable vehicle of the Master. Most valuable of all were horses in battle; and a rare prize. Even with guns and cannons going off, it would be...

Pearl, when I lived in California I used to go to The Church On The Way. Wednesday evenings we would pray for the nation, and our start time was 7:14 pm

And you are of the same spirit, so you can't see the answer to your own question.

You are not in the right spirit, so I refuse to be drawn in.

It was from another post, and they are the same ones posting now.

When the truth can't be understood, that is on them, not on the teacher.

No, that is just a temptation put there by the enemy, and you did exactly what you were suppose to do. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. It only becomes a sin when you dwell on it, turning it into hatred. Look how far it has to go before James calls it a sin. James 1: 14 But each one...

    I would say, thought provoking.
