Jesus never said he was God Almighty

From the thread I started on prayer for an 85-yo friend whose wife is dying today, I was looking at the topical index under grief and found this. The first sentence is definitive, isn't it, that God - in his unitarian nature - is the God and Father of Jesus? Compare it to this sentence...

    Surrogate Mother Dying

Jerry talked a lot about how unexpected it was. We explained how it was a blessing compared to the alternative of her enduring pain and suffering and loneliness in a hospital.

    Surrogate Mother Dying

A number of years ago I befriended an old man at the YMCA. We became close. He's like a surrogate father to me now. At one point, his wife said that I am now a friend of the family. At 85 yo, she has suffered from dementia, incontinence and cannot walk and can barely stand. Looming large in my...

Jesus never said he was God Almighty

This reminds me of a Marvel movie where Thor complained to Odin that he lost his hammer. Odin replied, “You are not the god of hammers. You are the god of thunder.’

Jesus never said he was God Almighty

Yea, less humbling than conceding a point, you just go from one verse to another hoping something trinitarian sticks from unitarian text.

Jesus never said he was God Almighty

No. Not all non-squares are rectangles. It is a non-literal expression meaning you have his support or it is on your side. This is what Darth Vader said to Luke, “The Force is with you, young Skywalker.”

    What is impossible for God?

Totally untrue! The Bible has many examples of God lying starting with Adam and Eve, Pharaoh and even ordering others to lie. 1 Kings 22:21-22. When God 'hardened' Pharaoh's heart, it meant he deceived Pharaoh from his own good judgement. Deception is a vital part of warfare and make no...

Jesus never said he was God Almighty

Wow! Language usage is not your strength. Many companies and countries have president's. If you are referring to a particular leader, the general noun becomes a proper noun as in President Trump. The same with Lord Vader. Lord Voldemort. Lord Cornwallis. When the entire word is capitalized...

Jesus never said he was God Almighty

No. The LORD can directly be lord over others or delegate that burden. Mostly, he delegates. So, while the LORD can be a lord, other lords cannot be the LORD. It's like rectangles and squares. :-)

One of many flaws in the obsolete KJV.

Scriptures that trinitarians Don't Want You to Know About - #5, Book of Acts

Jesus himself said the Apostles would perform even more and bigger miracles than he had. Many people worked miracles in the Bible. My pastor a few months ago went into the story of how Elisha caused an alter to catch fire after the false prophets failed. Also, he said a jar would last in a poor...

The Only True God, the God of Jesus Christ.

Assert what is not there all you want. I'll stick to what is there. God, in his unitarian nature, raised Jesus from the dead. It is delusional to pretend the verse merely says Father.

The Only True God, the God of Jesus Christ.

Right. Same as me UNEQUIVOCALLY saying I would get my wife a cup of coffee. It does not change the fact that someone else actually got my wife coffee or someone else actually raised Jesus from the dead. I know you do not want to discern the difference. In today's devotional reading I came...

Biggest mistake of the church and we need to go back

You are confusing those who left the faith being the followers rather than the corrupt leaders.

Scriptures that trinitarians Don't Want You to Know About - #5, Book of Acts

Yes, there is one divine nature. God in OT days gave this to a few select for a period of time. Then with the ministry of the Anointed Suffering Servant, God 1st put his divine nature in him and then he gave that one divine nature to us. Isn't that one John 17:22 is talking about? Just because...

Scriptures that trinitarians Don't Want You to Know About - #5, Book of Acts

Friend, don't confuse things. I deliberately took things one at a time in answering your question. If you cannot recognize how Jesus' accomplishments are not all unique, we are at an impasse. Fact is, Peter did bring someone back from the dead. So did Elijah. So did Elisha. And I was going to...

Jesus never said he was God Almighty

There are many lords in the Bible but only one Creator, the LORD God. (lowercase refers to a master. CAPITAL refers to the one and only Creator) In this year's devotional reading, I've taken up the NSRV Cultural Bible. It won the 2017 Bible of the Year when it came out. I am recording the...

    What Really Happened January 6th?

Ziggy's post #27 summarizes my thoughts on this topic. After a year of 'mostly peaceful protests' the media was suddenly outraged that the right would REACT in a similar vein, invoking the most inflammatory language possible. Fact is, if 150,000 Trump supporters wanted to eliminate Congress by...

theefaith, I appreciate your patience. Still, I'm tired and may not write as eloquently as usual since this is the 2nd time I've replied as requested. LOL There may be 2 reasons why your questions are not answered: Your questions are not aligned with the thread topic. You bury your...

The Only True God, the God of Jesus Christ.

No. The trinity is not in the Bible. God is Spirit and his Spirit is holy. Does not make it a being. In no way did Jesus raise himself from the dead as Scripture says NOTHING of the kind. Let me give an example. If I say I WILL or WOULD give my wife a drink, that is not the same thing as...
