Poll: Does the mainstreaming of tattoos open up increasing opportunities for faith ink witness?

@Josho It most certainly is; summed up in those words is so much glorious truth and wholesome theology.

Indeed; relevant verse there...he realized and applied the matter to his own heart.

Poll: Does the mainstreaming of tattoos open up increasing opportunities for faith ink witness?

Do you disapprove of prompting conversations about John 3.16, that wonderful verse encapsulating the Gospel? As a dispensationalist I would see that the Gospel - rather than the law or legalism - is the rule of the New Testament believer's life.

Poll: Does the mainstreaming of tattoos open up increasing opportunities for faith ink witness?

@Josho: I may have mentioned that my wife and I talked to a young lady with the whole of John 3.16 tattooed on her wrist area; and it certainly worked to start a conversation... :)

Thanks for your comments. :) I invite you to talk to the mods about: 1) the way the polls allowing multiple votes are set up; 2) tattoos; 3) me; 4) anything / anyone else you are fully entitled to disapprove of. :) Blessings.

    What is the Bible?

The Bible is so diverse, time-wise and dispensationally. It also has a wonderful, remarkable unity, across the many centuries when the Spirit of God used the various writers. The Person of Christ and His Work at the Cross lies at the heart.

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

I think most of all of the Gospel as the rule of the believer's life: deciding to give those various young men, who have been willing to come to meetings to hear the Word of God, a hard time merely because of their earrings (it's a very widespread custom, and has been for a long time) would...

    Who has read Malachi lately?

On another thread, someone wanted to talk about Malachi, a great subject....

Poll: Does the mainstreaming of tattoos open up increasing opportunities for faith ink witness?

@Rita Thanks, I think it's because multiple votes are allowed; I don't think the polls are supposed to reflect science. I think also some ppl's objection is likely because they don't like the subject matter, rather than because of devotion to science... but I can't read other ppl's minds...

    A Discussion with Youth

@Rita There's truth in what you say, indeed. I do think that the culture of rebellion is overall negative. "Godliness with contentment is great gain." Also I do think that the knee-jerk, negativity of people who are into cultural 'Churchianity' is not helpful when they seem determined to give...

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

In other words, you don't even accept that there are things that are subjective and cultural that different Christians in different places will have honestly different impressions about. (And I think you know I am not talking of doctrines such as John 14.6 being subjective.)

The Mark of the Beast (what it really is explained)

I don't agree with you on every point, but we can indeed be thankful for the victory! (1 Corinthians 15.57) :)

Poll: "ear piercings are fully accepted for both genders"

Good verses there; as I said to @Josho , at the small conservative local church where my wife and I have attended for a while, most of the young men/boys in attendance seemed habitually to wear earrings and no one — no one — has tried to "theologize" this to become supposedly inappropriate.
