In the end Hebrews 11.6 is the watchword for belief in Creation, the Flood, etc. If all the scientific proof were out there for the world to see, there would still be plenty of clever, educated people who would deny it.

@shnarkle Anyway, I guess it's not really surprising because it's a very widespread custom now. A few people might somehow find fault with it that they did it, but a lot of ppl wouldn't. Bearing in mind also that statistics apparently show that 59%-70% or more of parlor clients in North America...

None of these verses refer to the church, the post-Pentecost entity of which Ephesians speaks so eloquently, and which will be taken at the Rapture.

Our knowledge of God is indeed bound up with our faith appreciation of what we read and understand of Scripture as led by the Spirit of God.

Similar to Psalm 40.2-3: "He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings. And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the Lord."

@Prayer Warrior Above, @shnarkle mentioned not so long ago that a number of senior ladies at his local church had theirs done. It really has become very mainstream.

Maybe there's a real, practical virtue in ladies having really long nails after all... Hope your daughter's finger is okay...

Christ is indeed in all the Scriptures, but I don't see the church in the Old Testament at all.

Such a privilege now to have the fulness of revelation in the completed Scriptures. :)

The Apostles did not simply preach the Old Testament. Although they did indeed do this. There was also truly new revelation as the Spirit of God led them. I don't see the church as an institutional continuation of Israel; it's something fundamentally different, that started at Pentecost.
