When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

Such a weak response. The fact of the matter is that both Premils and Amils see some of the text as being literal and some as being figurative or spiritual. I do NOT spiritualize everything as you falsely claim. Are you denying that the context of 1 Thess 5:1-9 is related to believers being in...

23 major reasons to reject the Premil doctrine!

Please explain how those things will be fulfilled when He returns. In what way will "making an end of sin" be fulfilled when He returns? How exactly will everlasting righteousness be brought in when He returns?

23 major reasons to reject the Premil doctrine!

What is your understanding of the fulfillment of Daniel 9:24? There are six things listed there that were to be fulfilled within the 70 weeks. For example, making an end of sin. What is your understanding of the fulfillment of that?

23 major reasons to reject the Premil doctrine!

Yes, your cluelessness is quite sad. Who are you to judge who is trusting the Lord for protection or not? A person certainly does not need to agree with your ridiculous beliefs in order to trust the Lord for protection.

Your view turns a prophecy about things that would occur within a 490 year time period into a prophecy about things that would occur within at least a 2,500 year time period instead. There is no justification for that whatsoever.

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

So, why is that not clear in passages like 2 Peter 3:10-12 which speak of the scope of destruction that will occur when Christ returns? How do you interpret a passage like this then: John 5:28 “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice...

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

But, you can't even answer 2 or 3 questions in one post? That doesn't make any sense to me. But, you can respond however you want, of course. You're not looking at the context of 1 Thess 5:1-9. It has nothing to do with physical peace and safety because of being in a certain location, but...

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

No, I only mock you and your false full preterist beliefs and holier than thou attitude. I'd never mock God.

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

Not really. But, you made it clear that you can only answer one question at a time. Which isn't very efficient, but so be it. I'll go along with that. So, the question I would like you to answer at this point is where does Paul indicate in 1 Thess 5 that he is talking about the destruction of...

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

Yes, of course God's wrath will fall on the wicked and not on believers, but what is your understanding of THAT DAY exactly? When taking 2 Peter 3:10-12 into account as well, we can see that scripture teaches that the church will be caught up to meet the Lord on the day Christ returns while the...

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

Yes, I am clear on it. It couldn't be more clear that he was talking about a future event. You talk like someone who has been brainwashed. You think you're holier than thou and more spiritual than everyone, but you've been duped by false doctrine. Paul saying that Christ will come down from...

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

I am interested in a back and forth discussion where we actually address each other's points. But, if you're not able to do that in a way that isn't convoluted and difficult to follow, then I'm not interested in that. The truth is never so convoluted that only a select few can even understand...

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

But, in 1 Thess 4:14-17 Paul was clearly talking about something that had not yet happened. Why are you acting as if what he wrote there had already happened when that is clearly not the case? He said the Lord Himself will come down from heaven and the dead in Christ will rise first. That's not...

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

How does this address what I said, though? You don't seem interested in a discussion where we each specifically address what the other says. You only seem interested in sharing what you believe while not specifically addressing any of my points. That's not what I'm looking for in this thread...

    Question for Amill's only

Because the topic was brought up, but we don't talk about it constantly as you falsely claimed. Do you know the difference between talking about something rarely or occasionally and talking about something constantly? The Millennium has not started but Jesus is still reigning now? That is total...

No, I'm not saying that at all. How exactly did you get that from what I said?

He sure is. Good grief. Dangerous how exactly? LOL. I don't personally find anything you said there to be dangerous at all. I agree with all of it. Good post.

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

What I said was this: So, if anyone is reading this and has the view that 1 Thess 5:2-3 and 2 Peter 3:10-12 are not speaking of the same event, I'd like to get your thoughts on what I said in the original post of this thread. You're not really giving me your thoughts on what I said in the...

When will the "sudden destruction" from which "they will not escape" referenced in 1 Thess 5:2-3 occur and what is the scope of it?

I read that and don't find your argument to be even slightly convincing. Sorry. I see no basis whatsoever for differentiating between the phrases "the day of the Lord", "the day of Christ" and "the day of God". They are all just slightly different ways of referring to the same thing.
