2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

To add to what you're saying: Acts 14:22 Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. 2 Timothy 3:12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

Why did you not respond to anything I said in my post? Do you not know that Jesus reigns now? Matthew 28:18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Ephesians 1:19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same...

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

Right. In the NT, the day of the Lord always refers to the day Christ returns. Both Paul and Peter are very clear that global destruction will occur on that day (not 1,000+ years later). Only doctrinal bias can keep someone from seeing something so obvious as that.

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

There is no Jeremiah 23:56. Isaiah 11:10 is quoted in the following passage (Romans 15:12) in a New Testament era context. Romans 15:8 For I tell you that Christ has become a servant of the Jews on behalf of God’s truth, so that the promises made to the patriarchs might be confirmed 9 and...

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

Exactly. It seems that some people just completely ignore the context of passages like that.

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

If it's very far away then why did Paul and Peter both tell their readers to be careful and to be spiritually sober and alert in anticipation of the arrival of the day of the Lord?
  7. Spiritual Israelite

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

I'm saying it potentially can happen in the lifetimes of any of his readers because otherwise it wouldn't make sense for him to say that we need to be careful about living holy and godly lives while looking forward to that day. So, what he means is that we need to make sure we're on God's good...

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

You used the word consummation in the context of the beginning of something when the definition of the word is that it is used to describe the end of something. So, you created your own definition of the word that doesn't exist in reality. If you can't understand what I'm telling you by now then...

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

Again, Peter indicates that it is something that could happen in the lifetimes of his readers, which is why he said what he did in 2 Peter 3:11. But, in your view, the destruction of the earth by fire cannot possibly happen during the lifetimes of any of Peter's readers. How can 1,000 years...

25 questions that prove that ancient Chiliasm was a different animal to modern Premil

Apparently, supporting others who believe in Premil, regardless of their other beliefs, is more important to them than defending core Christian doctrines like this. Either that or they don't want to be seen agreeing with us evil Amils about anything. Sad.

    Another Premillennial absurdity

Right. There is absolutely zero scripture which teaches anything about this third group that he believes in. He continually thinks that the things he comes up with in his imagination are equal to scripture. He seemingly could not care less if he can support his views with scripture or not. I...
  12. Spiritual Israelite

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

Yes, it does. There is no indication in what Peter said whatsoever that there would be a thousand year interval between the arrival of the day of the Lord (which arrives upon the second coming of Christ) and the burning up of the heavens, the elements and the earth. Yes, but he also indicated...

Paul claimed 3 times that Revelation 20:4 was a current reality.

No, it's recorded here: Acts 26:22 But God has helped me to this very day; so I stand here and testify to small and great alike. I am saying nothing beyond what the prophets and Moses said would happen— 23 that the Messiah would suffer and, as the first to rise from the dead, would bring the...

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

LOL. I see. So, you are allowed to make up your own definitions for words. Interesting. If your aim is to be as confusing as possible, then you are succeeding.

    Another Premillennial absurdity

So? You're not going to be very productive in that goal when you say the nasty things you've said on this forum. For example, calling Amils "a gang of thugs". Wow. I'm not even sure why I'm still talking to you after that one. You're failing in that regard on this forum, just so you know. So...
  16. Spiritual Israelite

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

If you acknowledge that 2 Peter 3:10-12 is literal, then there is no basis whatsoever to place the destruction Peter wrote about 1,000+ years after the second coming of Christ. None. Look at verse 11 here: 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear...
  17. Spiritual Israelite

2 Peter 3:10 The Big Whoosh

LOL. So, Peter commented on it for no reason? You think he was telling him to look at what the prophets had written and proceeded to talk about it himself while fully expecting them to ignore what he said and only look at what the OT prophets said? The problem with your view is that you don't...

    Another Premillennial absurdity

You seem to think that any disagreement is an attack. I think you might be too thin skinned for this, Randy. I agree, but are you doing that? Read post #371 before you answer. Ourselves? No, you are just trying to remind us Amils of that while acting holier than thou. I don't want to do that...

    Another Premillennial absurdity

If you're not interested in the hostility, then why have you been so hostile on several occasions? You need to stop being a hypocrite. Work on yourself for awhile and then maybe you can get to a point where you can correct others.
