Jesus is the Son of his God

Yes. No. Moses saw his the Father’s backside. You’ve muted the Father. You haven’t heard his voice. Yes.

Jesus is the Son of his God

No. Jesus is fully informed. It is you who is misinformed according to me.

Jesus is the Son of his God

You’ve completely misunderstood the psalm. I do. It’s you and your theology that I don’t believe. The specific Jews whom Jesus was addressing - not every person who has ever lived - hadn’t heard his voice. Jesus isn’t even speaking literally about them not hearing the Father himself. Their...

Jesus is the Son of his God

“The LORD (Father) says to my Lord (the Messiah, His Son), …” (Psalm 110:1, AMP)

Jesus is the Son of his God

It’s the Father himself who is the speaker. Do you even acknowledge that the Father himself speaks anywhere in the Hebrew Bible? Do you acknowledge that God didn’t speak through his Son until “these last days” (Hebrews 1:1)?

Jesus is the Son of his God

Precisely what I’ve been saying the whole time. I don’t know what flipped the switch for you and it doesn’t matter. This is a Messianic psalm. (It doesn’t take an army of trinitarian theologians to know that - though such an army exists.) The Father (Yahweh) is speaking prophetically to the Son...

Jesus is the Son of his God

The psalm obviously isn’t about David. The psalm is about the Messiah. The NT writers used it - the most frequently quoted / alluded to OT text in the NT - to support their belief and the preaching of Jesus and the apostles that Jesus of Nazareth is the Messiah, Son of God.

Jesus is the Son of his God

I could provide you with thousands of trinitarian sources. So not even a trinitarian could persuade you that Psalm 110 is a Messianic psalm. The trinitarians are right. It’s a Messianic psalm.

Jesus is the Son of his God

If I provided five trinitarian sources saying that Psalm 110 is a Messianic psalm, would you believe it?

If I provide a trinitarian source saying that Psalm 110 is a Messianic psalm, would you believe it?

Jesus is the Son of his God

Yahweh is speaking to the Messiah. I shouldn’t have to say this but I do: David isn’t the Messiah.

Jesus is the Son of his God

You said Yahweh is speaking to David. (That’s incorrect.) Then you said David writes that Yahweh is my Adonai. (That’s incorrect.) Adonai is the title given to Yahweh, not to David, nor to Jesus. You’re right that Yahweh is not speaking to Yahweh. Yahweh is speaking to someone who is inferior...

Jesus is the Son of his God

https://mechon-mamre.org/p/pt/pt26b0.htm Psalm 110 in Hebrew and English. Yahweh is never given the non-deity title in scripture. Yahweh is the speaker. The Messiah is the person whom Yahweh is speaking to. An assertion that verse 1 reads “my Adonai” is unsupportable. The text reads, as...
  15. Matthias

Jesus is the Son of his God

That’s not true. Yahweh isn’t speaking to my Yahweh. Yahweh is speaking to someone who is identified with the non-deity title. The deity is speaking a a non-deity. The Hebrew deity title adonai doesn’t occur in verse 1. That’s right. That’s David’s God. That’s Abraham’s God. That’s the...

Jesus is the Son of his God

Again, the NT writers identify Jesus of Nazareth, not King David, as the person whom Yahweh is addressing in the prophetic oracle. Adoni is a title given to many persons in the Bible. It occurs 195 times, and in every occurrence is someone who isn’t Yahweh.

Jesus is the Son of his God

Psalm 110 is a Messianic psalm. “Yahweh said to my adoni“ -> the God of Israel is speaking prophetically to someone who isn’t the God of Israel. You say it is King David but the New Testament identifies the person spoken to as Jesus. Adoni is a non-deity title.
